Factions
allows players to create guilds, clans, teams, or whatever you want to call them. Ally up with factions you like, and go to war with faction's that rub you the wrong way. Build towns and bases, and siege those of your enemies. Thus is the way of war. Factions is the greatest way to control large amounts of players, and sets up political intrigues like you wouldn't imagine.
Hardcore
virtual-pvp is a highly geared to hardcore pvp. No items will be given, and no teleports will be given either. This is the player's world to shape, and admins are just here to make sure it runs smoothly. Also, no whining about lost items, you will be ignored, even if a rollback/minecraft glitch caused you to lose the items. Which is really never due to our highly skilled coding staff

♔ Do not argue with staff
