Hey guys! I had a new idea for an AWESOME SERVER TYPE, and I want YOUR opinion! There's a poll on top, so just hear me out!
My Ideas:
2 sides, and the player gets to pick when they first log on to the server:
Good
Evil
The players start out as a Peasant {Good} or a Slave {Evil!}
The longer they play, the more ranks they get depending on what side they are.
Some {Good} ranks:
Peasant
Knight
King/Queen
NOTCH {Final Rank}
Some {EVIL} ranks:
Slave
Vampire
Sorcerer
HEROBRINE {Final Rank}
There will be about 10 ranks for each side, but this is what I have come up with so far.
The objective of the server is to play as long as you can, but also try and kill people from the other sides. It's all out survival of the best, but you can betray your side. If you kill someone from your side, you have "betrayed" them and you switch to the other side.
Notch and Herobrine? Why?
Well, those are the highest ranks and the hardest to get. Here is the final powers they get:
Notch:
Since he created Minecraft, you can to! Place trees, build small houses and more, all with a few commands!
Herobrine: MWA HA HA! Herobrine has the ability to kill people within a 20 block radius by staring at them for 5 seconds, as long as they're not on his team.
Also, this is not a minigame and the world is simply generated like a normal world. You just have to survive the best you can! Also, there are many additional plugins such as Blood Moon, just to jazz it up a bit!

Who are you gonna find to write up the plugins? I like the general idea, but I think it shouldn't be survival. That leaves it open to griefing, which could mess up the game a bit. I say, start in cities, and no friendly-fire. Unless it's certain people playing, don't give players ANY trust. I know that sounds mean but don't leave any room to grief or troll.

I think there is one bad part.

That could be fixed by making the server whitelisted so the owner can keep track of the balence of teams.

I guess maybe the slaves could be tortured when they were slaves, so they learned and were raised only by evil. Just an opinion though

I wouldn't choose slave as the evil starting rank. I'd choose thief instead

Perhaps good will be more like angels and stuff and bad, demons, and peasants, kings, queens, etc. are nuetral, and able to betray eachother, as well as bad is able to betray eachother. Good should be weaker and use less force, as they aren't as evil, but you can't betray in it.

Its really good idea, and for this minigame you should use FyreUk's ''The Battle for Lothern'' map, its exactly for this kind of minigame.

Been done before, didn't work out so the server shut down. Now, its a brilliant idea so go ahead with it, and hopefully you can do a better job

I had a similar idea that Im still thinking about :
When they join the server they choose to either be a bandit or a citizen
bandits create factions
citizens join/create towns
They Have totally different ranks and may have different rules too.
(but im still thinking)

Really good idea but, the one part I dislike is if you team kill you get sent to the other side because somehow and I guarantee it, people will find a way to exploit the system. So maybe when you hit your own teammate they take like half damage and your teammate gets speed III.
Also when the server first starts won't everyone be slave or peasant and after a couple weeks everyone will be promoted to the top or am I missing something because then you'd either need a reset every month or maybe you have to murder one of the previous Notches or Herobrines and they could have bodyguard and stuff.
Just my input and I wish you good luck on getting this idea out there.

Great idea, if you need help with the plugins i've got a few in mind for what you set your ideas to, honestly it's mostly easy to configure and find the plugins you need, it's whether you have the dedication and time to do it Goodluck!

I can make your server run as you described with no mods. Just say the word.

I designed a working good/evil point system for my adventure map. It shows up on scoreboards and every time you reach 50 on either, thos points are cleared and you get either a level up or some cool buffs. Please let me know if you are interested. It is all in vanilla minecraft, no plugins required.

This seems like a really good idea. I really hope you can find a decent modder to get this server running the way you described it. Also if you want any man-made structures I wouldn't mind helping out.

My server idea is a secret agents server Also, servertalk belongs in server chat room except if its like : What kind of server do you like best? in which it would go in discussion or minecraft.

good idea, but people will go trolling and constantly switch sides. maybe you can make it for every week you can change or something. and anyways, this is like a better version of the red vs. blue server. keep it up!!!
