So i have seen all these amazing texture packs out there and i was wondering if there is a programme i can download to help make customising a texture pack easier. i would like to be able to do one for the latest version or do i need to edit each file individually?

There are a lot of online websites that let you make your own textures for everything. I think novaskin has one? Once you get all the textures you just place them in the designated folder with the proper name (sun.png/oak_wood.png). I usually use a premade pack for figuring out the folder/texture file names. Hope this helped somewhat!
