Laptop confusion

I'm am attempting to get a laptop for christmas. i've been looking around online with different RAM amounts. I would like to get a 8gb or 6gb RAM laptop, but they're all a bit out of plausibility. the main reason it seems is the memory that comes with it. for example, i saw an 8gb RAM laptop that had 1.5TERRABYTES of memory. it was selling for $1,500. obviously, i only need the memory for a few videos, maybe like 20ish programs(skype, minecraft, steam, etc.). is there any sort of trade off where i can get a good RAM laptop that only has like 250-350 gigs of memory, or does that just not exist? some assistance would really be appreciated. pm me any responses you have.

Memory and RAM are the same thing.
If I weren't a dedicated Mac user I'd get a Lenovo. The ThinkPad Edge won't break your wallet and can be customized to have all of the specs that you want. I just customized an Edge E425 with 6GB RAM and a 500GB drive for less than $600 shipped.
There's also nothing bad about having more storage space. =P
