the website is dangerous do not run any installers you download from there...it fills your computer up with malware and plants a trojan on your pc
i found this out the hard way
luck for me i managed to remove the Trojan before all hell broke loose and the malware is easy to remove
if you value your computer you will not run any installers downloaded from the site

Don't click the big red button labled "Download". It's an ad.

It's just another site like PMC and MCForum.
As normal, be careful about what you download. It's no more dangerous than downloading anything from PMC.

Except mod creators choose to put their content on these sites theirselves.
9Miinecraft and MinecraftDL are the equivelent of the scrubs who decide to upload someone elses mod on PMC to try and scam some EXP

Even though it false advertises, uses it's own adfly links and loads up maleware?

Also people who make money by stealing these mods without the proper 'partnership' deal should be taken down imo
change taken down to shot and you've got it spot on
Regardess if you clicked the ads or not, I have seen a somewhat consistent pattern in which a mod is outdated but apparently úp to date when it is not, compared to other websites I do not trust minecraftdl due to the nature of the website falsely advertising a mod as updated. If it were me I'd have the site taken down straight away, however I do NOT recommend minecraftdl because it falsely says a mod is updated and I am led to believe that this website may also cause potential viruses to infect other computers
The simple answer is don't use DL

AVG stopped me multiple times getting rid of trojans and generics. MinecraftDL *used* to be a safe website but now its full of malware. Here is a very good idea. Bail MinecraftDL, go to 9minecraft.com. 9minecraft has installers that install the mod for you. so does (Ad link removed). I have been using both since my first mod, Mutant mod
9minecraft is just as bad as minecraftdl, whether or not you click the adverts if it is not a trustworthy site do not download from it as it can totally wreck you computer and ruin your minecraft. You are a fool to believe that 9minecraft is okay as I use other sites mainly pmc, skydaz and the original mod forums to download them.

NEVER USE 9MINECRAFT
dirty thieving scumbags who should die unloved in a hole.
Also who put you up to advertising them, I'd like to punch them in the face.
Stop using 9minecraft, you are only encouraging their disgusting scumbaggery.

Isn't that the site which lists mod versionsthat were never released?
Yup. Says Aether 2 is on 1.6.4 and 1.7.4 XD
48productionsJust to let you guys know, malware can just install itself by just loading up on the page. You don't need to click on an ad to get a virus! I have never been there myself, so I can't say if there are viruses or not. I always to go to the site where the mod creator originally uploaded the mod/plugin, not some other re-upload site. Stick with PMC, MC forums, and bukkit.org and you should be fine!
This.

Norton - The Anti-Virus Virus
OldTownAnd where did you get the idea that its full of malware? .
my trusted anti virus told me
also if you got heough it's installer it wants you to install all this stuff..google the stuff it tells you and google says they are malware
Or maybe you're= smart enough to click an ad?
i didnt click an ad i ran an installer to get a mod
Doesn't matter if the authors don't say anything about it, it's still a dick move to make money of someone else's stuff without their permission. Or even asking for that matter (this is the part that annoyed me).
Do the authors a favour and use PMC or mine craft forums, their own official posts.

I use MinecraftDL all the time, no viruses for me. Just don't click ANY of the ads. I generally use it because it's alot easier to find files on there, instead of searching all in tarnation for the mod I want. But yes, I agree, it's probably best to NOT use them, because you can download viruses (if you click every single ad) And, use peoples work (usually there is nothing wrong with this. MOst mod authors never say anything about publicly sharing the mod and whatnot.) So, OVERALL MinecraftDL is actually a pretty nice place, I generally get all my mods from there....
Isn't this blacklisting? O-o
Doesn't really have much to do with blacklisting...
false, you clicked an ad. try to select it, if it is text, it is real, if it is an image, it is false. another way is get chrome and get adblock, it leaves the real download and removes the false ones, aka, the ads
Hope i helped
PS DONT CLIK TEH ADZ

OldTownAnd where did you get the idea that its full of malware? Cause some random Anti-Virus program on your PC told you so?
Or perhaps from all the people who have said they've gotten viruses from the site.
Let's be honest, trusting what one person says about a site might be silly, and trusting what an anti-virus program says about a site's content might be silly - both could give false alarms for something safe.
But both combined? Not trusting them seems like a pretty bad idea.
And where did you get the idea that its full of malware? Cause some random Anti-Virus program on your PC told you so? Usually they bug the heck out and claim everything is a virus when they are on "Net Guard" or have the feature enabled which makes them check everything is downloaded, transferred etc.
I haven't used it myself, and while Web of Trust's overall rating for it is good, I wouldn't trust it based on what I've read. Lots of people have complained about getting viruses from it, and besides that...
I hate the people who do these things. It's not their work to be uploading so they shouldn't be uploading it.
some1epic123MinecraftDL steals mods and makes money from them without crediting the author. I wouldn't use them whether they were malicious or not.

I have downloaded from Minecraft DL, A few times. But before, you just downloaded the file and they'res no self-installers. The new version has self-installers, and I have canceled my download because I and afraid what it might do.

So much this, it's pathetic and should not be encouraged.
Always use the links from the mod authors.
Just download the mods from the offical websites maybe. Or PMC itself.
This IS NOT true. Don't click the ads. :/
I download there almost all the time.
Guess what? No trojans or malware.
No virus reports either.
You scroll to the bottom where it says "Downloads".
Then, click the link to the page it is hosted on. (MinecraftForums, PMC, etc..)

Minecraft Forums is THE place to get mods.
For plugins, dev.bukkit.org should be the only place you download plugins.
Planet Minecraft is a great place for skins, and resource packs.
