My Mouse Double Clicks Every Time I Single Click
Okay, so my mouse on my computer is being really weird. Whenever I right click, it acts like I right clicked twice. It isn't very prominent on the interwebz, but in Minecraft it's EXTREMELY annoying, because moving inventory items, crafting, and even BUILDING are all screwed up.
I've had this mouse for years and it's never had a problem.
It's a wired USB mouse, and yes, I've tried un- and re-plugging.
It's super hard to play Minecraft (mostly survival).
Thanks in advance! Please reply soon!

Man I had this problem earlier and there was a really dumb way of fixing it.
It literally makes no sense but by magic, my mouse stopped having this problem. xD
Try blowing the crevice in the button you're having problems with.
It's most likely filled with dust and with some water vapors, it may help or some non technical term.
It took two days worth of googling to find how to fix it but with nothing to lose and not wanting to get a new mouse, I tried it.
And it actually worked which really surprised me the most since the method of fixing it after reading it for a second just seems dumb.
Maybe the little dust sprayer for your keyboard might work too but you can work with what you have atm.
Keep in mind that I've also done things like plugging in my mouse in another port, opening up my mouse properties and trying to fix it, and rapidly smashing the mouse button a few times to see if something was stuck between the clicking plate and the button inside the mouse.
Maybe this method might not work but it sure helped me a ton. The main problem is that there's something lodged at the rubber button under plate.

Thanks for the info, I'll try this. The other mouse I found is (Warning: Horrifying First World Problem) about half an inch shorter and thinner than the broken one, so it really bugs me. I'll try it out.

It seems to work now. Thanks!

Well, anyways, I found a new mouse. I hope this one works better. Thanks for trying to help, guys.

Yep, buy a new mouse!
Chances are the microswitches inside are just worn out from age/usage, games like mine craft which require excessive clicking really kills them.

Here's an image of when I attempted to craft a wooden pick. I right clicked once in each slot, and in some it placed two of the material.

I've had this problem too before, I didn't do anything and for a while it just goes away, it's probably minecraft's problem, not your mouse

How long is "a while"? It was doing this yesterday and they day before that also.

Update: It seems to be doing the 2nd click when I release the button; don't know if this'll help...

(To first poster) I tried that, but in the Inv. it just Shift-clicks as usual. (Jumps from Hotbar to Inv. and back)

Hi Vechs.
No idea man. You may need a new mouse.

I_heart_Notch try double clicking to invert the mouse back to normal. It happens to me all the time.
