10MB for a resource pack. Really??? I have a horror map that was due THREE DAYS AGO! People shouldn't have to wait for the map to come out because the website wont allow resource packs over 10 MEGABYTES. My resource pack was like 40MB! This needs to be raised.

40MBs, what? Was this like 256x with tons of CTM in it?

(either that or all of the default resources which is 40MB because sound, seriously, you don't need to include ANY default resources.....)

Also, if your pack is over 10MiBs, seriously, chop out the stuff you don't need. Chop out the non-resources stuff, and chop out the default assets.

"Snaether CHRISTMAS" has 783.9 KiB (801.792KB) of junk (achievement, com, gui, lang, META-INF, net, paulscode, texts, etc. inside assets/minecraft) you don't need. You have tons of default assets in it, and if you don't change it, don't include it.

I have a 16x resource pack with most textures done, some CTM, and even sounds and it and it is only 1MB (under 1MiB). So really you just need to not include what you don't need to, and optimize (if you want to). Remember that the smaller your download file is the sooner someone can be enjoying it, and it also lowers the chances of their download is interrupted because of network issues and power outages, and is less taxing on data limits someone may have.

In most cases, 10 MB is more than enough. Keep in mind as always that you cannot include original Minecraft content or content you didn't create - you should leave that out. That is the proper way to do it.

This would be so there are not 1000s of large files located on the PMC website host slowing down the site even further... as others mentioned mediafire is your best option

Maybe you should use Mediafire links if you want to give someone this. Just don't expect me to download a Horror map even!

Mediafire, Rapidshare if it's too big? If it's 3 days late why are you only mentioning it now?
