Hey guys, I need a little help. So when I try to run a .jar file it does not work.
Which program should I choose when I click open with...?
I tried Java Platform SE Binary but it does not work. Any suggestions?

Make sure that you have online and offline java runtime

To run a jar file, you usually have to add Java to your CLASSPATH.

...i don't think you can run .jar file...

You can. Just have the base Java Runtime Environment installed and provided the .jar was packaged correctly, you can run it as an application but double clicking the file.
Note, it HAS to be packaged correctly. Not all .jars are applications.

You can. That's the way you install Forge.
@OP, try uninstalling Java and removing all of it's folders and then re-installing it. That's what fixed it for me.
