Ok so I'm becoming the amazing and much more versatile PC gamer, I am selling my XBOX 360 Elite 250GB and all its games (PM if you want it) and going to build a gaming PC. I came here to ask all you potential hardcore PC gamers or at least professional PC enthusiast to ask if this build is good for the games I want to play.
Games:
- Battlefield 3 / High or Ultra settings!
- Battlefield 4 / High or Ultra settings!
- Crysis 2 / Medium or High or Ultra settings!
- Crysis 3 / Medium or High or Ultra settings!
- Minecraft / Far and fully maxed out settings + any type of shader mod!
So, basically I am aiming for a PC that will run AAA games at at least higher than console settings. I want to be able to play Minecraft at FAR and maxed out settings maybe with a shader mod. I want to be able to play these at a solid 60fps or more whilst recording!
PC Build:
- CPU / Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell CPU LGA1150, 3.4GHz 6MB.
- CPU Cooler / Deepcool Gammaxx 400 CPU Cooler, 4 Heatpipes, 120mm Fan.
- MOBO / Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H, LGA1150, Z87 Chipset, PCI-E 3.0.
- Case / Corsair Vengance C70 Mid Tower.
- GPU / Gigabyte GF GTX 660 OC EDITION PCI-E 3.0 2GB 192-bit DDR5, 1033 Boost 1098, 6008MHz.
- RAM / G.Skill RipjawsX 16GB RAM (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Dual Channel CL9.
YES, I will be overclocking both the CPU and GPU, CPU to 3.8GHz - 4.2GHz and GPU I do not know as I have never overclocked a GPU. I've checked and yes all the components will fit so don't worry about that. I am aware 16GB of RAM is too much for games but I do plan on recording and rendering.
That's it, hopefully thats everything you need to know about my plan and if you leave a comment, or are highly knowledgeable of PC's please leave a very detailed reply and tell me what should be changed or things I should consider.
THANK YOU!

To video render you need at least a i7
OMG you are stupid.
You can bump the CPU down to a 3570K, anything above a 2500K is enough. That extra 5% performance at the cost of significant overclocking doesn't make the 4670K a good option and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is enough for CPU cooling.
As far as memory goes, video editing is irreverent, 8GB is enough. You're not dealing with 10TB of raw, uncompressed video. You're not going to be editing together hours of footage into one massive clip. You're not going to encounter the workload that makes 16GB of RAM useful. Serious/professional video editing systems requires low CAS latencies and clock rates in the 2400Mhz+ range, especially when you start dealing with 4K.
As far as everything else goes, a 500-600W PSU is enough for that build. You can get a cheaper case and motherboard and just barely squeeze in a GTX 780, maybe even bump up the PSU to something like 800W if you want to eventually SLI 780's.

I agree 100% with what you say and for once, someone smart commented but I have already brought the case =3 and PSU so yehhh, anyway I'm am fully aware that 16GB RAM is overkill but BF3 takes 8GB RAM and if I want to render a small or medium size clip, 8GB RAM wont do, I am going for the 4th generation 4670k (haswell) because of its new features and how well it performs. Other then that, thank you for replying =)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OMG THATS FUNNY!
You realise Alienware call them self gaming PC's but actually the worst things, I want a gaming/rendering PC not a flashy piece of metal, If I wanted a laptop i would buy the "Razor Blade"

$1000 - $1300
i played Skyrim at ultra definition, and it didnt freeze a bit
and i had only 2 GB video card.
and i had only 2 GB video card.
Hm.... maybe you should change your GPU to a one with more "bit"
The 660 is 192bit right?
Try 256.
On a side note, in a month I'll be building my own!
Intel core i5 3570K 3.4 -3.8ghz
GPU Nvidia GTX Gigabyte 760
RAM 8gb Corsair ddr3
Haven't decided the rest yet :p

Yes it is the 192-bit but I don't have that much money :/
If I end up earning more I will but one question, is 192-bit compatible with a 256-bit SLI ????

bump..
Only bump every 24 hours...
Bump.
EDIT:
Yes, your build will run it fine
It wasn't technical but at least it will run fine
That last one was no help :/
BUMP!
BUMP!
Try something like this, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1hDT5 ignore the accessories and maybe change to an i5 and it should be fine my 760 runs MC at 60 fps with barely any stuttering and BF3 at maximum settings (not ultra, max) I haven't checked fps for bf3 but I highly suggest a 760
