I just finished my brand new gaming PC and some games jitter (every now and then stop for a quick second)

From all my games that I have played...
Games that jitter:
Battlefield 4
Minecraft (sometimes)
Batlefield 3

Games that dont:
FarCry 3
Borderlands 2
Saints Row IV

PC Specs:
AsRock B75-m pro 3 motherboard
Intel core i5 3570k processor @ 3.4GHz
1x4GB DDR3 Kingston HyperX RAM @ 1600MHz
Macbook Pro (non retina) toshiba HDD with windows 7 64-bit
GTX 660 OC 2GB GDDR5 @ 1033MHz (Boost Clock: 1098MHz)

If any knows why this may be, please tell me, and can I fix it??

I assume its the crappy HDD and/or only having 4GBs of RAM.

Thanks, you are all so helpful

ONE MORE THING! :p

On my birthday I am going to upgrade my PC even more, if I have a 120GB SSD, is it better to just get another 120GB SSD and when the first one runs out of room just start using the second, or get a 240GB one and transfer all the data and then sell the 120GB one to buy more stuff?

Really just depends, I would only install Windows 7 (About 50-60 Gb) and some main applications on it, but if you want to put games on it aswell (Battlefield 4 is huge) then I would definitely recommend getting a 240Gb or larger SSD. Otherwise there is no point in a large SSD.

ANOTHER THING, I have 64-bit operating system but 32-bit Java, would that be why I cant assign more RAM to minecraft??

yes it would.
if you can't find it, here is the link for a auto-download for the latest version of 64bit java from oracle.

If you have a 64x operating system, you should definately have 64x Java...

You kind of cheaped out on the RAM there. 4GB isn't a lot for newer games plus running everything that's essential to your operating system and things like Skype, Steam, Teamspeak, and an internet browser. Just takign a stab in the dark, but perhaps it's due to a fluctuation in the application's RAM usage?

Likely HDD or RAM. You've got a bottleneck being hit somewhere.

4gb is the low end of average now.... high end games and minecraft use a lot of ram

a GTX 660 wouldn't get "lag" I think I know the difference between lag and a game loading something and force the game to stop quickly, I still get 60+fps when it happens
