Hello!
I want to make an intrie in this évent but i don't know how?

Hey Laya - thank you so much for your interest but we've concluded the contest. It would be super cool if you still wanted to make an Exoplanet to share though!
Just a quick update for everyone - we're in the process of sorting through and sharing the entries with the judges - we'll post winners as soon as possible. We've been very impressed by the amazing range of creativity and science!
@WHIMC how can I put my worldgen datapack, Exocraft into the Exoplanet Contest? it doesnt show Entry for event
Hi Rainbow Slime, sorry we didn't answer you in time. Most folks add a download link in their description to an external website. Alternatively you can upload a datapack to Planet Minecraft here and link to it. I see one bundled in your download though so you might be okay. I'll let you know if it appears to not work.
replace the Gliese 581c into Exocraft as Exocraft was gonna be my submission into the contest. btw its ok :D. but if you cannot do that, then its ok to leave the Gliese 581c on the contest :)
Is it compulsory to add a "Free Download" link?
Well we have to look at the actual world to evaluate it effectively :) is your concern that others might steal it and make money off of it without attribution or something?
Noo, it's simply that I usually put my maps in my Patreon when events are finished, so I get a little bit of economical support. That's why I wanted to know if I can make you (the judges) recieve the map from a private way or it's compulsory the public download link :).
Okay! So yes you can submit something privately for the competition. Screenshots and/or video will still be required, along with the normal expectations for explanation by-level. Thanks for asking!
Thanks for solving this doubt :). I'll provide the map to the judges privatedly anyway if you need to when I post it.
Yup! We will not share it with anyone, but there will likely be questions about features that I'll show them in-game live :)
Good question. I'm gonna talk to some folks and get back to you on it.
SO coool
Hi
For advanced people datapacks and ressource packs are welcome , can we use WHIMC datapacks or create one

You're more than welcome to remix our datapacks or resource packs for your world! This might be especially helpful for removing the moon, for instance.
Does it have to be a real exoplanet, or can I create one of my own?
You can invent an exoplanet that hasn't yet been discovered, it's best to base it on science to determine what's likely to occur. Good question!
I used the real exoplanets for my datapack but you can also use your own like making a Hell Exoplanet or Water World Exoplanet
Water worlds could very much be possible - earth was once a big stormy ocean of a planet :)
Firey and hot worlds are also possible, take a look at Io, the moon of Jupiter, for some ideas there.

yep I made Gliese-1214b and Kepler-22b
"Submissions should be based on science but the NASA website is just one place you might find good information. Feel free to come up with something totally original based on what we already know about other exoplanets." -What WHIMC said earlier in this thread.
Thanks for the reminder!
Hello!
First I want to ask, how to create a world with 200 MB and second, is it allowed to use optifine ? (because my resourcepack works only correct with..)

Optifine is fair game! You can always do screenshots with shaders and the like.
Your world doesn't have to be exactly 200 mb, just under that amount. Just don't make it too big :)

Hello I have a question.
So from what I understand this is a build event. Are we allowed to build small creation and enter them? Does it have to be 256 blocks or can it be smaller?
I'm not really a builder (I'm a skinner) but I think it would be fun to learn about exoplanets and build something small to show what I've learned.
Thanks,
South

Under 256 blocks is okay, no worries!
This also made me wanna clarify what "256 block cube" means. 256 number of individual blocks? 256x256x256 build size limit?
Righto!
The event description says "head on over to NASA’s Exoplanet Discovery Dashboard to look around for some interesting candidates". Do we have to use material from NASA or can we also imagine something completely original?
Great question Kefaku. Submissions should be based on science but the NASA website is just one place you might find good information. Feel free to come up with something totally original based on what we already know about other exoplanets.
I am confused about the beginner and advanced options for the submissions. What do mean by the advanced and beginner options?
Hi Vanny, here's the section that explains each track:
OH ok thank you
I have 2 questions about this:
1) How do we indicate which track we want to submit for? Is there a tickbox somewhere?
2) Can anyone choose any track? i.e. can a prodigious kid new to Minecraft join the advanced track, and can a pro builder with no free time join the beginner track?

Great questions!
1) For now go ahead and include this in your description, we'll look into making it more explicitly easy to mark.
2) We're going with an "on your honor" type system. Newbies who join the advanced track will be judged against the other entries in there, which is on them. If we see something that looks like it doesn't belong in the beginner track we may follow up with questions about process and methods. A screenshot of the world open on the ipad they made it on, for instance, or how science/astronomy factors influenced their decisions and design. In your example since they're a pro builder they should submit to the advanced track - we're intending the beginner track to be more for those who are totally new to the game or younger children.

Look what the New York Times posted just today :)

Anyone else have any sources of inspiration to share?

This event looks really cool!
Space is so exciting, I can't wait to see everyone's creations and what inspired them.
Us too!
This seems incredibly exciting, and I'm looking forward to seeing the multitude of imaginary worlds everyone creates!
If you have any competition-based questions feel free to post them here! If you've having trouble getting started you might find some inspiration from the neat example Exoplanets available for download on our PlanetMinecraft page.
