The Dark Times. RP APP Thread.
NOT A SERVER RP
There was once peace in the land of Alatoth. There were no wars, and the Three Kingdoms lived in peace with one another. That is, until ' He ' came into the picture. You may be wondering who ' He ' is, and what his actually name is. ' He ' goes by many names, depending on the race and region you came from. The Animal Kingdom call him " Death ", the Human Kingdom call him " The Midnight Rider ", and the Earth Kingdom call him " Armageddon ". Ever since ' He ' was created, the Three Kingdoms were driven into war against him, each other, and his Undead Armies. At a recent peace counsel among the Three Kingdoms, many heroes were pulled from each of the armies and were put under command of a Great Warrior. This Warrior is to lead this band of heroes to into ' His ' own territory, and kill him. But who are you in all of this? Are you apart of ' His ' Undead horde, one of the heroes chosen to fight, or the Great Warrior himself. This is where your story begins.
Rules:
1. No god-modding, Meta-Gamming, or Perfect Characters.
2. Limit is two characters per roleplayer.
3. You cannot become evil if you are a chosen hero.
4. If you apply to be apart of the Undead Army, please be a high ranking person in it. Not a regular grunt.

The Three Kingdoms:
Click to reveal
The Animal Kingdom is made up of animals that are in humanoid form. Such as wolves, cheetahs, rats, panthers, lizards, dogs, cats, etc. They usually are great with swords and archery, not relying on magic as much. They're armor is up to date with humans, but are made of lower quality metals.

The Human Kingdom is made up of regular humans. They can be almost anything from archers and swordsmen to mages and alchemists. They're armor is of great quality, and can vary greatly in design.

The Earth Kingdom is made up of living trees. Usually referred to as " Woodies " by the other Kingdoms. They use their massive size and strength against their enemies, not needing weapons. They have no armor, unless you count the hard bark on them.
The Undead Army:
Click to reveal
The Undead Army is made up of living corpses and skeletons. All raised by " Him " or by his Deathmages. Deathmages are high ranking Undead in the Army, and usually control 100 to 500 troops at a time. They all serve under ' Him ', and have weak armor. Usually only having pieces of armor on, and never full sets. Deathmages wear long cloaks, and have staffs.

Application!
Kingdom: Undead
Name: Despair
Position: High Deathmage
Skill: Close combat. He's helpless with long ranged stuff.
Appearence: You know Darksiders, right? Think Death from that, but with just a black hood on his head, instead of the weird hairdo. Don't know Darksiders? See anything else section.
Personality: Polite, but very cruel.
Backstory:
I figure Deathmages need a particularly epic backstory?
Jack Speller was a very average person. He grew up on a farm in the human kingdom, mostly minding his business. However, he and his twin brother were a little bit troublesome. They often roughhoused, fought, and argued. When they weren't fighting each other, they were messing around with other people, pulling pranks, all that great stuff. As they grew up, they changed very little.
Jack became a little more responsible growing up, just enough to earn his fathers trust. He inherited the farm as his brother went off to find his fortune in other ways. Jack's unruly behavior soon disappeared as he sat alone on his farm, tending to the crops and animals. Jack loved his life, and wanted nothing more than to be alone, farming all day long.
Until 'He' came along. When Jack got news of 'Him', he feared for his, and others, safety. So, he went off with a large portion of the money he had made farming, and had a simple set of armor made for him. He then went off into battle, wielding his great-great-grandfathers sword. He had very little training, so was put in the back lines, where he wouldn't have to fight and get slaughtered. However, Jack's bravery got the better of him. He attempted to join in the battle. It did not end well.
As Jack charged an undead warrior, he was cut in half with one slice. His blood, among many others, splattered across the battlefield, his dead upper half no longer gripping the sword he had stabbed into the undead at the last second. One of 'His' Deathmages, looking across the battlefield, saw potential in him, or at least in his dead body. So, the Deathmage took both halves of his dead carcass to re-animate.
Wanting to experiment, the Deathmage re-animated his body separately, sculpting a new upper half and new lower half from pure darkness. He put the new upper half on Jack's old lower half, and the new lower half on Jack's upper half. Jack's two new bodies awoke, with no memories, only knowledge of cognitive functions. (Walking, killing, just the basics) So, they were sent off to training, down in the lower valleys of the Shadow mountains.
They trained for a few weeks there, but some of the heroes raided the training camp, taking the trainees and instructors by surprise. Everyone fought valiently, but quite a few were ripped to shreds, including Jack's upper half. Jack's lower half, having no memories of his previous body, did not mourn at all. He was dead after all. Why should he care about his upper body? So, Jack's lower body kept training harder and harder.
Jack's lower half, adopting the name Despair, became much more powerful as time went on, training and training. Eventually, 'He' put Despair on the front lines, as he was a killing machine, but wasn't sure if Despair was ready to become a Deathmage yet. Despair did not disappoint. He killed people like a kid eats candy, taking a great pride in his work. And so, 'He' finally decided to make Despair a Deathmage. However, unlike the other Deathmages, he preffered to keep his scythes, leg armor, and hood.
Despair made sure he always did his best, dedicating his un-life to 'His' cause. He made sure to kill anyone 'He' wanted dead, and made sure to do it quickly, efficiently. To this day he works as 'His' second in command, obeying every order without hesitation.
Weapons: His two scythes which he keep at his side, as they fold up. He is very versatile, and can use any close range weapon he gets his hands on.
Anything Else: He is a cake? As for the Appearence, tale a gander at this video. It also shows his fighting style. Warning: video has large amounts of blood and/or gore. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocdrQGTdllY
