This game is a lot more about space battles, and trade routes than it is building I think. WE have several servers we play on. A Vanilla which because of the unfinished economy system really isn't that fun because there is no struggle. A Sandbox which once again gets boring fast because it just fees like minecraft, and a practical RP server with an adjusted economy that encourages exploration, mining, and trading. Out of the three the practical RP server is the only one that holds my interest. This has some really good potential for some epic Space RP servers. The sheer scale of some of the ships I have seen designed is amazing, and the stability, and smoothness of the servers is incredible for a small indie alpha. Though the game is not a replacement for minecraft it certainly is a new angle and a welcomed breath of fresh air in a world of stale rehashed titles.

I would really be appreciative of a talented skin/texture artist taking it upon themselves to spruce this game up. The official text pack that came with this latest patch is a complete disaster.

The problem with Minecraft is that the universe is limited. It would take you 10,000 real years to fly across the Star-Made Universe.

Seen plenty of Minecraft "space" mods. None of them begin to compare to this game. You can fanboi all you want about Minecraft, but it's time has passed. Time to move on into the future.

What this game could really use are some talented skin and texture artists to liven it up. I'd be willing to pay 100 million or so in game for a good "Evil Corporate Spaceman" skin.

First of all Minecraft is "indie". Second "Too much like minecraft?" Maybe if Minecraft were able to do more than make one large planet, and offered real time space flight, and a built in faction system. Sure... Anyway you are on a Minecraft forum. It would go without saying that you might enjoy a game "like" minecraft that offers some unique features...

I can only lead you to water. I can't make you drink.

Notch said when the game is complete he plans on making it open source or even public domain so chill out rage kid. You really should just buy it though. Much better servers on the real version.
