It is, I am sorry for not replying to this topic for such a long time. Its the guys who pay for hosting who screw me over every time. Either they "have school", "Cant pay at the time" etc. I have set up a lot of plugins and made a little bit of spawn. I need help building, I will make a new topic on that huh

Lol, now going offtopic, I know you can game on Macs and Laptops, but the gameplay experience is suckish. Laptops and Macs are for work not gaming.
How can you play Minecraft with a Mac unless you do a bunch of custom binds ?

I still stay by my statement. I am currently on my father's ultra-expensive laptop and when it comes to gaming, it sucks. While my recent old $500 computer (It costed $500 4 years ago) runs GTA IV on Full HD >.>

I completely disagree with you. Everybody knows laptops ARE NOT for Gaming.
Laptops are made so you can carry them around and do work. So they are mostly for your job and business. I would NEVER suggest someone to buy a laptop for gaming purposes. Most of the laptops (Even if they have a pretty nice processor and RAM) have a gpu that sucks. And the worst part is, only thing you can adjust with laptops is RAM. So I stay by my statement, laptops for gaming is like getting a fork for eating soup.

First of all, you have to make a .bat file in the Server folder.
How to do it?
Open Notepad (Not wordpad)
In it write:


@echo off
path=%PATH%;%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Java\jre6\bin
java -Xms1G -Xmx1G -jar craftbukkit-1.3.1-R2.0.jar
pause

Press file->Save as...-> server.bat
Change the file type to "All files".
Save it to the folder you have your server in.
Run the .bat file you made and it should all be set up
You will have console but you will not have any GUI.
You will need to type the commands in the command prompt.
* When typing commands from console DO NOT use / *
If you are running any other craftbukkit version, type the exact file name in the Notepad.

NOTE: If you are running 32-bit version of Windows the code should be:

Announcements:
-Server will be first launched in Alpha. While in Alpha version, our staff will build the spawn the best they can. After Alpha there comes Beta version. In Beta version, we will find any existing bugs and glitches.
-After the Alpha and Beta versions are finished. We are going to launch a Prerelease version. We will advertise the server, create the webpage, forums etc.
-When we are done with the Prerelase version, we are going to release the actual Release
-Server is going to be Cracked, not Premium, because of a lot of people that don't have money/can't buy a Premium account.
-It is not decided yet if the server is going to be hosted on a dedicated rented server or my own computer. This depends on people's opinions and the money we can raise a month for hosting. My suggestion is hosting it on a dedicated server, even tho my computer has 32 GB RAM and an elite i7 processor. This is because I am not sure if my computer can be constantly 24/7 on.
-I will soon set up the permissions for each group.
I thought of making these groups/ranks:
-Newbie
-Member
-Citizen
-Advertiser (Optional)
-Trial-Mod
-Moderator
-Admin
-Head Staff
-Co-Owner (Optional)
-Host (Optional)
-Owner

I am not giving anybody Mod/Admin before they prove theirselves as a Trial-Mod first.
I have started making my server but it is still under development. As I said, the fastest I can launch it is 6th of September, but I am not 100% sure about the date. Expect it launched before 10th of September. Staff will get the IP 1 day before the others.

DO NOT buy a computer! You will just get ripped off for a shitty one.
You should make one yourself.
My suggestion is to get Game Booster 4 (AMD Machine) or make an intel one yourself.
Laptop are for pussies. Desktops hardcore!
Laptops cost around 3 times more for same kind of processor/RAM/etc.

Get a SSD 64GB or 128GB Drive for OS and other Important things.
Get 1TB HDD
Get 8-16GB RAM.
Get Intel-core i7 (Or even better i5 but you gotta Overclock it, it will work better then i7).
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 850W
Cooler: Xigmatek Gaia
A nice GPU would be something like 660, 670 or 680 Nvidia GTX for that money.
Case: Enermax Fulmo Advance
Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V Pro

I am not sure if you can afford it, but that's a computer that I will think will last at least 4-5 years! So save up for it or just edit it for your budget.

PMC/Discussion Group Manager Need Help

First of all, you should op yourself from console, like the other guy said.
You do this by typing
op <name>
Next of all, to add permissions to a specific player the command is
/manuaddp <player> <permission>
If you want to add yourself all permissions you should type the following
/manuaddp amant20 worldedit.*
/manuaddp amant20 worldguard.*
/manuaddp amant20 *
To add permissions to a specific group, let's say you want to add all permissions to group Owner.
To do this you type:
/mangaddp Owner worldedit.*
/mangaddp Owner worldguard.*
/mangaddp Owner *
Now to add yourself to Owner group, you DO NOT use WinRAR (You can but it is harder, and you gotta type /reload after you are done adding). You should just type
/manuadd amant20 Owner
The worldedit and worldguard lines are required, because Group Manager is kinda bugged and does not auto-support some of the plugins. I prefer using Pex (PermissionsEx) for permissions.
It has autorank and other important features and it is much easier to deal with.
Also, if you don't know how to op yourself, I don't think you should make a server yet.
Someone could easily hack it with illegal characters and other things.
First go play on other multiplayer servers, get ranked and learn all the commands.
