I just wanted to answer this lil' bit really quickly, as I don't have much time to do anything else (packing for and moving into college, woo). Proper responses will be coming for the rest of you (and for the rest of this post), I promise.

So finally if you could explain to me what demonstrable negative effects inactive mods have on the website aside from trivial, "It looks bad" things I would be happy to give you my take on it.
Really the only negatives I can think off of the top of my head is: It can be a bad example towards other (especially newer) mods and as you said, "it looks bad." Granted, both are mostly trivial issues. But, I still think they are issues that deserve being dealt with and are potentially just by-products of a bigger problem.
I obviously don't have that many answers, I just wanted to get some attention on what I somewhat perceive as an issue that could be handled better.
I have been happy to get things cleared up so much, it's been really nice for me, at least personally. I'm happy things have stayed calm. I think this can be a bit of a learning and improving things for everybody, myself included.
