How long you've been playing Minecraft?: Since Beta 1.7.2

What do you think makes a good leader?: I think that there are a lot of qualities that make someone a good leader. For myself specifically, I think what makes me a good leader is that I know how to keep morale up. I like to encourage people to keep going when the going gets tough. No project or task is too big to do, and that with determination, it can get done. Another important part of leadership that sets me apart is being part of the teamwork. When I get bossed around by a leader who doesn't do any work, I feel like there is no reason to work. I show people how to do something, for example build a bridge, and then I help see them through the final project. I will build with them, and not leave the person by themselves. No one should have to be told what to do by someone not working. Lastly, I think that what sets me apart in leadership is that you encourage others to be leaders. I work at a local arboretum, and we always need more leaders. We have lots of volunteers, and some of the current volunteer leaders, including myself, encourage the new volunteers to one day aim for a leadership position. This kind of care helps give people faith that they can achieve their dreams!

Do you have a specialty with Minecraft(Art, building, programming, etc.)?: I would say that I'm an all around Minecraft guy, but I enjoy building houses, spawns, towns, cities, bridges, railways, and subways. Building gives me joy!

Additional information (optional): I enjoy writing music in my spare time, and I also perform this music. Its nice to have Minecraft as a break!

About Me: I enjoy writing and playing music in my spare time, as well as volunteering at my local arboretum.

Minecraft Experience: I have been playing Minecraft for a good seven years now. I started before there was creative mode, villagers, or anything like that. Back then, we had to learn to work hard to get what we wanted, it wasn't always handed to us as it is today.

Staffing Experience: I have been a part of many staff teams over the years, and have been all ranks, from Helper all the way up to Owner of a server. Now given that my server was a flop, I was better at staffing, such as being an Admin on WillowCraft, and a Moderator on LazeCraft. Those are my two most recent staffing positions that I obtained.

Reasons For Joining the Team: I have a few reasons for joining your team. My first reason is that I love to help people! I know it sounds fairly common, but I assure you that I am not some average joe who wants to help. At my arboretum job, I have logged over 326 hours in the 3 summers I've worked there. When I find something I like, I work hard on it. My second reason is that I'm looking for a new server to be a staff member on. I am not currently staffing, and want to get back into it. I miss being part of a team, and I hope I can contribute to the community idea that you presented. My third and final reason that I want to be a staff member here is that I am mature. Most staff members these days are little kids. There is nothing wrong with this except that they sometimes forget to be serious in serious situations. If I had to judge myself on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most mature, I would give myself a 9. I know how to be mature when a situation requires it, but I can have fun when there is a lot of down time!

Minecraft Skills: I enjoy building in Minecraft. I can build spawns, towns, cities, roads, houses, railways, and bridges. Oh and also shops. In terms of Dev related commands, I am proficient in GroupManager and WorldEdit.

Maturity: I consider myself to be quite mature. If it were out of 10, 1 being the least mature, and 10 the most mature, I would give myself a 9 out of 10. I am serious enough to get work done, I won't get angry if you don't like what I do, and I can still have fun when need be.

Schedule: I am free for at least two hours every day of the week, usually more, never less. I am in US Central Time.

Why we should choose you: I feel that you should choose me for a few reasons. My first reason is that I am open to change. If the server goes through a period of change with staff or anything of the likes, I will "roll with the punches" as the saying goes. My second reason is that I like working with people! Many people today don't have the social abilities to work with other people, and I enjoy working as a team to accomplish goals. My final reason is that I want to help. I volunteer at my local forest preserve and helping people is something that brings me joy!

Have you ever worked with a guild/faction idea? If so, explain: I have never worked with a guild/faction idea. I have led various factions servers, but I'm not sure if thats quite the same.

Experience with being staff: I have been many staff ranks on various servers, from Helper to Owner of a server. Some of these servers include my own, CobbleCraft, WillowCraft, and LazeCraft.

What rank?: If I had the choice, I would love to be a farmer! But if you want something else that works too!

Why this rank?: I've always liked farming, I know how to work the land, and I enjoy planning and organization. If I were a farmer I could get a lot of organization going which would make me and hopefully other people happy.

What makes you better being the leader at this rank than anyone else?: I feel that I am a better leader for a few reasons. My first reason is that people love working with me. My co-workers and friends love being with me, and it takes friendship to lead people. My second reason is that I know how to lead. I am the first chair cellist in my high school orchestra, and I am also the NHS President. I lead my fellow peers, its not something new. I have experience. My final reason is that I am open to new ideas. Only good leaders listen to advice to better themselves. I do that to make others happy.

Amount of time playing minecraft and amount of time you will dedicate to the server: I have been playing Minecraft for several years, since the original 1.7.3, back before all the cool stuff like villagers, and consider myself to be quite proficient in knowledge about the game. I am willing to dedicate at least 1-2 hours per weekday, and 2-3 hours on the weekend. Sometimes though, things come up and I might not be able to spend as much time.

In what ways will you benefit our staff team?: I feel that I will benefit the staff team in a variety of ways. 1.) I am always cheerful! I will provide happiness to members of the team that need encouragement! 2.) I am able to do a wide variety of things in Minecraft, from building to chat moderating. Versatility is a good thing to have if a staff member is missing. 3.) I work well with others. Being part of a team means that you need to respect the other team members and try to work hard with them to achieve the goals of the server!

Describe how you are mature: I feel that on a scale of 1-10 on a scale of maturity, I would be an 8. Let's be honest, no one is perfect. I know how to show respect to people of authority above me, and am nice to those below me. Sometimes though, when people are stubborn, I can get a bit immature and start arguing with them. Most of the time I try to diplomatically solve problems, but sometimes mistakes happen. For the most part I am mature enough to not rage quit if some person destroys my stuff.

Do you have any experience with servers? explain: Yes I have experience with servers. I have played on many (Haven't most minecrafters? XD) and have also been staff on several. The highest staff position that I ever obtained was Co-Owner. I have proficient experience as staff on many servers.

How serious are you? I consider myself to be quite serious. On a scale of 1-10 I would give myself an 8. This is because when something needs to get done by a deadline, I get serious and work my butt off to finish it. But when its time to relax, I can get to be more open and not as uptight and serious. But when seriousness is required, I'm your man.

What makes you a #1 choice?: I feel that there are a few things that make me a #1 choice. 1.) I am mature. See the above question about maturity. 2.) What makes a community strong in your opinion?: I think that what makes a community strong is when the people interact with each other on a regular basis. If you don't see people for a while, you get out of touch with their lives, and don't know them as well. Also, to have a strong community is to have players and staff who care. By this i mean that they should try and get to know new people and learn about who they are. Another thing to make community strong would be to have group events where everyone can choose to participate! Like a group fair or market so people see each other!

What are your style of building: I usually build in a decently modern style, but I do medieval occasionally too. I prefer to build cities, towns, homes, bridges, factories, and railways. I am working to become more expansive in my building abilities. I hope to learn more pixel art and terraforming soon.

What would you do if the server is getting griefed and you are banned and all other staff including me and you have console and you have no way to contact me?: I would first ban the player, both normal and ip, who banned the staff and griefed, then I would go back onto the server and unban all the other staff. Then we would start fixing the server.

What plugins are you good with: GroupManager, Essentials, Towny, WorldEdit

Why I should pick you: I feel that there are a few reasons that you should pick me over other possible staff. 1.) I am mature, yet have a sense of humor. Far too often today on servers, I find staff that either "bring down the hammer" or just goof off the entire time. I am a person who has been lucky enough to find that happy medium between being a mature staff member and a fun one. 2.) I feel that you should pick me because I don't desire for personal gain. Many staff come into power just to feel better than others and build more epic bases, or get other powers, etc. All I want to do is help the server and its inhabitants get along together! 3.) I feel that you should pick me because I have a creative, yet logical mind. I am able to express myself and relate to other people, which can be good if members are confused or need help. I can also think through tough situations which can be crucial.

Why you want to be picked: There are several reasons that I want to be picked as staff for your server. 1.) I want to be there to help! I enjoy watching new servers start from the ground and go up! I want to be part of your server to take part in its uprising! 2.) I want to be able to add another server to my resumé. I keep a running record of servers that I have worked on as references. If I do a good job here, I could add another server as one that good. 3.) I want to be picked so that I can help people. I volunteer around my community, but I also like to reach out to other people if I can, especially over the web. I could help new players, as well as you, in times of joy or times of need. Discussions/General High School Is Stressful - Advice?

I am currently a junior in high school.

Take it from me.

Freshman year was a struggle for me as while as sophomore year. I too decided to go down the all honors path freshman year, and the AP route sophomore year. Looking back, I realized that it really wasn't worth my stress taking those classes, because some I wanted to take, and others I didn't. High School is all about learning what you want or like to learn. Now I know you need to take all of your common core, but you can choose whether to take them advanced or not. And you're not any better a person whether you take honors or regular. People need to realize that its ok to take regular classes. I would recommend for your next years of high school that you take AP and Honors courses in subjects that you enjoy learning about, and regular in courses that are a struggle for you. For example, I took English and History AP this year, and Math and Science regular. In the end, just take classes that YOU want. Ones that will bring you the most joy!

For the situation with friends, I have a similar tale. Coming into High School from Middle School, I lost my entire friend group. For whatever reason, they decided that they didn't want to be friends with me. This really disappointed me, but I found a solution. I got involved in a few school clubs, and some clubs outside of school. By doing this, I found people that shared common interests with me. A great way to build lasting friendships! And if you're at all worried about fitting in at school, I'm sure a lot of people can agree with me, but be yourself. I wear my Minecraft shirts, wear my hair in a ponytail (I'm a dude), and I don't care what other people have to say. If you hide who you are in high school, it will be a lot harder to find yourself along the way. I fit into my own group in high school. Its better to not be with the "Cool Kids" or "The Jocks" or even "The Druggies". Be your own group, it pays off.

Overall, high school is what you make it. If you view it with a negative outlook, then it won't be fun for you. High School is a great time in life, and its all about taking chances, because most of them pay off in the long run!
