As someone who has played in 3 of the 5 events, I was incredibly underwhelmed and unimpressed at how the iBPCRAFT staff members and devs handled it.
Full list of things that went wrong:
- Unprotected building competition (Griefing was very much possible.)
- Lack of information (Day 3 event had critical information released less than 1 hour before the event start.)
- Intense server lag (The iBPCRAFT server wasn't optimized enough to handle the 100 or so players on day 3.)
- Server crashes (Day 3 and day 5 have had server crashes during the events.)
- Long maintenance times (For day 3, the server had to close for ~20-30 minutes after every game, and ~30 minutes of maintenance after each crash. Note that these maintenances did not change anything.)
- Exploits
The exploits one is the most outrageous in my opinion. Day 5 had an exploit that let players get over 5k points in the parkour event. This is where the iBPCRAFT staff members and devs let us all down, because instead of fixing the exploit (I had contacted the server owner and told them how to fix it), they decided to not only keep the exploit secret to the legit playerbase to even the playing field, they even told the people who asked that it wasn't cheating and that the scores would count. The day 5 event lasted 2 days total, and after the first day, they started a large banwave banning everyone who abused the exploit, which included me, from the server.
Afterwards, I had sent the staff members a comprehensive guide to how the plugin in question works, how to abuse the exploit and how to patch it. The aftermath of this guide was a second banwave, and this time towards the same people who exploited, but on the discord.
I do not know at this time what happened afterwards since I have been banned, but it is imperative that word of this gets out to as many people affiliated with iBP as possible, as it is utterly disgusting how they acted during the event.
Note: In my attempt at helping the staff members fix the exploit, they instead banned me and stopped me from receive the prizes I had gotten from the previous event, namely 50$. I am not the only one who has lost cash prizes due to their actions and if I could go back in time and stop one thing, I would stop the PMC partnership with iBP as all of this is tainting PMC's name.
