1. SOme people consider it as cheating if you donate for items. Especially on faction and survival servers.
On PVP servers it may be, but still they payed for that rank. So the other players have to be more skilled then they are.Factorcraft
2. The people who give the donation ranks out dont care what they give. As long as it makes you buy it.
I disagree and agree, Some servers may have people who don't care at all, but You should never refer to everyone.Factorcraft
3. People on the server will become jealous of you and they might start being mean to you.
I have never had or heard a case like this happen before, but it is possible.Factorcraft
4. Most of the time when people say "it's to help the server stay up" and whatnot there parents are actually paying for it and they are spending your money on stupid crap.
I wouldn't say "most", but I totally agree with spending it on other things. Parents barely ever pay for it, and some servers are hosted at home, so It does not even need donations to stay up.Factorcraft
5. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT: You will get bored of the server in a short period of time and you will regret having donated.
This I totally disagree with, most people donate because they love the community, and have bonded with it, giving it their trust. I have had quite a few donators from like a year ago, and yet they're still here not bored.Factorcraft
P.S. Sometimes you won't get what you donated for and they wont give it to you because they are lazy fatasses.
What servers have you been playing on? Because I have never seen any that do not give you your rank.Factorcraft
This isn't for everybody! I am just stating that from my experience and others I know.
You obviously know this about certain servers, don't assume that it applies to all servers.
