Welp, my 40 days of sketching journey blog is up. The 'failed' days I filled up with pictures from my travels. Either way, I think there are still quite some interesting tidbits to find here and there.

So yesterday ended the second half of 40 days of sketching. Did I succeed? No.
Do I really mind, not really as the first 20 days were the most important ones to me. I did notice some side effects during my holiday due to doing this.

Either way, going to wrap it up this(?) week or so in a blog and probably fill the non-sketching days in with photo's from my travels on location.

Today marks the release of Billie Eilish's third studio album "HIT ME HARD AND SOFT," and in celebration, we are excited to introduce a special skin collection created in collaboration with DFH. Please note that this collection is a fan-made creation and not an official collaboration.

The collection is created in a limited range of colors, where blue and red act as the leading, dominant shades, giving the products expressiveness and energy. However, the presence of yellow softens the overall perception, bringing warmth and harmony to the palette.

The official Steamworld server is a lot older than I thought.. And it seems my hours on this game are downright worrisome :o 113 days spent lollygagging.

Anyways, it's been about 3 years since the official server began, and even longer since I've had ideas to pursue such a massive project. Is anyone interested in forming a community around the project? Let me know! with that aside, I'll go touch some grass now...

There's a large area in the main continent that sits very empty. I've been planning to build a major city here for 2 years and nothing has come out of it until today. Not really too sure what to name the city, I definitely need to find a lore writer for my builds. Anyways, it's about 85% done.

Curious to know how many here enjoy creative building, and where. I've been building solo on my server for so long it's almost pure instinct building at this point. Not so sure why I don't get bored out of my mind building solo, though.

The build takes up all of the current build height, so it is the biggest possible scale; almost reaching 1:1 with a length of 1300 blocks!

Well, that's day 20 of 40 days of sketching. Quite odd, on one hand it's not a lot of days but in another way while looking through them. A lot has happend. in terms of progress.

Either way, I am looking forward for the next 20 days to sketch on location. Quite different compared to sketching from google streetview. The only downside? possible bad weather & roughly 20~24 hours of traveling needed from closing the front door behind me, all the way to my first place to stay. But that's something for tomorrow morning.

Been working on an airship factory. The scale is difficult to work with and the fact that I have different factions also suggests I'll have to build multiple faction-based factories to make it fit the lore. Seems I'll be enjoying my weekend grinding the builds. :)

Been doing a lot of texture related stuff, as well as a lot of server sided configurations so I unfortunately have not had the time to build. However here's a cool screenshot I took while messing around on my server :)

So... day one in the pocket of my own sketch journey.

Being inspired by Stubbs1 Sketch journey's one and two. I decided to do my own version of it. Not 60 but 40 days of sketching. The first 20 to get the very basic's down or rather, re-evaluate what I always used as base without really questioning it.

The last 20 days, doing actual urban sketching while traveling abroad / being on vacation. With the main goal to be in better shape in my vacation than the previous years.

p.s. also making this post to give an additional kick under my own butt, to do it actually for 40 days.

First look of my latest project. The hangar bay of the MC80 Home One from Return of the Jedi.

Back with the city. Finished most of the basic building structures, now one last superstructure left to complete. This will be the airship port. Got the flu so I spent the last week not in the best of environments but I am back now.

Difficult having to reiterate so many times that my builds are not downloadable to so many new (and presumably younger) Planet Minecraft members. It's a public portfolio, guys, please respect someone's decisions not to post world downloads..

With that out of the way, here's the current city progress.

The building is supposed to be a high level prison. Still brainstorming names for it.
