Unfortunately you can only edit the patterns and texture of the banner. Because the banners are entities and not blocks, and also because the game tries to reduce the amount of texture files, the banner textures are in black and white and colorized based on the default wool colors. You can't actually change their color, but if you want to change the patterns the texture files are in \assets\minecraft\textures\entity\banner

You mentioned builders being paid for their work. If I were to be a builder, how much could I expect to be paid?

Try enabling multi-core chunk loading in optifine, the base game only uses 2 cores and a xeon isn't exactly built for gaming anyway. Perhaps using more cores to render chunks will allow your game to run a little quicker. Also, as stated above, the game seriously does not need that much memory allocated to it, even if the game says it is using that much. It should do just fine with 2-4 gigabytes.

Edit: Forgot about how you are using a lot of mods, but still you shouldn't need that much memory allocated

Do you have Skype?: yes, nammerbom
Do you have a youtube channel?: sort of - I have one but have never gotten around to actually publishing anything for it. Also, just nammerbom
Talk a bit about yourself (You can say anything you want, I just want to get a general idea of who you are and if you will fit in): I'd only be able to play during the weekends due to other obligations and school work, but I'd love to play if people came on regularly. I'm definitely a builder more than anything, but I love the survival aspect of the game and sometimes its nice to just have a relaxing evening with friends playing survival.
What sort of experience do you have in Minecraft? (feel free to attach any screenshots of builds): I'm the co-owner of Operation Realism; I do a looottt of realism building. Besides that, I know a ton about survival but haven't ever had a chance to make anything cool or weird with it.

    Thanks!

extract the jar to a file so you can access all the .class files inside, then use this website to decompile the .class files to editable .java files. You may have to reformat it a little bit because it does the whitespace a little weird, but it will still work the same. http://www.javadecompilers.com/

I haven't done any modding before, so I can't help you past that point. Good luck!

Do you notice large frame drops occasionally when playing the game (i.e. going from 30 to 5 fps), especially when you try and break blocks? Also like LiveLatios said, try just playing on 1.8.8. 1.8.9 is only very minor bug fixes that shouldn't really affect that and for security mostly on multiplayer, which you don't use anyway if I understand correctly. If you still get problems with the blocks after downgrading a version it is probably something to do with your hardware, not the game.

CaptainMuricaYou won't need a liquid cooler to get good temps on a locked i5. Something like a Hyper 212 EVO will be good. The highest I've ever seen my Xeon E3-1276v3 get during a burn test was 47°C, and it uses a 212 EVO. Idle temps are around 25°C. I know Xeons are designed to run somewhat cooler than their Core counterparts, but the 1276v3 is both clocked higher and has a higher TDP than your i5-4670.

Ok, but my computer is in a tight location just because of the way my desk is set up, and so the exhaust fan blows out into a really small area. I purchased a desk fan that can blow that air out of the way so its not lingering around my computer, but my cpu still runs at around 50 degrees celcius idle and around 80 under load because of its location. Do you think liquid cooling would make any difference in that?

Funny you say that, theres on in a resource pack I downloaded today.
No, this isn't an advertisement so mods please don't get on my case, I am just trying to help. Resource pack is here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/ma ... eal-hd-sky , you can find it in the assets/minecraft/font folder of the pack. I would edit it then put it in your resource pack that you are making.

You could always try making a .properties for the unicode file but otherwise I think you are stuck with resizing the emoji

I thought this was going to be a comparison thread and I was about to scream, good thing you added that extra bit at the beginning. I think you should wait for both games to be released to see how reviews are going to end up being, but if I had to pick between the two I'd probably go with fallout 4

Because I really only play in creative and try and build realism builds, 1.9 doesn't really bring much to the table for me. I think the new combat things are a great addition to the game... except for the fact that they mean nothing to me while building. The new blocks added in 1.9 really don't change much as I will probably just retexture them in my texture pack, and even then it doesn't open up to much new possibility for building. I think 1.8 and 1.7 gave much better things to both sides of the community, it added more for building but also for exploration and people who enjoy survival and minigames.
