Apparently, you didn't read my last update. Last week was a lot busier then I expected, I also run my own channel which has been suffering a bit in terms of content. I'll carry on with this once I've got everything back on track. It wont be long, a couple days at most.

There are a few people before you, but the chances are I'll release them in a group as I have done for the past couple times and will be sure to include yours in the next group.

Ian The OreoThanks a lot! And I like keeping my old videos though, it's fun to see how much my channel changes over time, and I want others to be able to see my progress too c:

No problem! I definitely understand that. I would just suggest making thumbnails for them too, even though they're older. They still have the potential to bring viewers to your channel and a thumbnail might increase the chance they watch the video in the suggestions column.

Okay, well it's great to hear that. As I say I pick a random video to check full consistency, all of the videos should be top quality, but obviously improvement was important and you realized a lot of what I said before hand. I hope that my review wasn't completely useless because of this.

That's alright. I'm not 100% sure it will help their self-esteem but it should make them think at least. I'll be onto your review soon.

    NoGoodNamesbro? u still der?

Yup, it had been very little time since I last did a review when you posted that. Try to keep in mind that one of the rules does say that I could be busy.

    -

And with that, I will have to say that I have had a surprisingly busy week. It will probably be a week or so before I have a full review out to everyone who has submitted for one so far. So please be patient when submitting your channel. This isn't a quick rating of your channel, it takes a lot of thought and a lot of consideration because I really am trying to help. It's a little hypocritical that I'm suggesting other people who have done this before are to paraphrase 'slackers', as I indeed am falling a little bit behind. Everything should be fine soon then, the rest of the week is still pretty busy for me so just keep that in mind. Thanks to everyone who has submitted so far and I hope you have enjoyed my/your reviews so far.

    One Random Video - 8/10
    Video picked - "Team Fortress: Multiply a Weapon's Stats by 10 - Part 2"

    Video Quality - 10/10
I can't fault you in this, everything is absolutely good in terms of video quality, frame rate, video size and aspect ratio. Good job sir.

    Audio Quality - 8/10
Only a couple things I can criticize here, one being the game audio being a little too loud and at some points it over powers your voice a little bit. Then at the same time, your voice is peaking in terms of levels. It distorts at the points where you are a bit louder and the easy fix is to turn down your recording volume and then turn yourself back up in editing. This will stop your voice from distorting. Good job otherwise.

    Commentary Consistency - 9/10
Again - absolutely fine, you cut out the best bits and shove them together like a montage, a great way of making a video of some gameplay and keeping it short and entertaining the whole time. This way you don't have to worry about commentary consistency.. Good Job again.

Voice Type and Pitch - 9/10
Once again, nothing really to criticize here. You're obviously enjoying yourself which makes your voice a whole lot better. Keep at it.

    Video Content - 8/10
I haven't got a whole lot to say about this, because it's definitely out of my market in terms of entertainment. I've played team fortress 2 a very small amount. (Maybe logged, 2 or 3 hours) And I have very rarely looked up a video to find interest in the game, just because it's not what floats my boat. I like how you've added little captions to represent what you are saying. One thing I will say, is turn skype on DND, the alerts are very distracting as I keep thinking people are messaging me. Just turn alerts of while recording. Another thing I could suggest is perhaps adding a little background music, it's completely up to you, but it might make it a little more entertaining.

    Background - 8/10
Background is good, I can see that you're obviously a team fortress based channel. It's good that you make your background related as it definitely represents your brand, and really helps with brand strengthening. (You might have seen me throw this phrase in a few other reviews too, it's a good thing). Only thing I can say is the text for your channels name is a little blurred. Try and keep that nice and sharp and easy on the eyes. Once that is done it's a great background. Nice one.

    Thumbnails - 9/10
Taking into account that you've told me to not chose the random video as the ones before a certain video, (which I will talk about more in the final thoughts). Your thumbnails are really good, the text is clear, the backgrounds seem reasonable and they're somewhat good on the eyes. A great job with them. Obviously the ones before this said video are left without custom thumbnails, but again I'll talk about that more below.

    Metadata - 7/10
Based on the video I saw, your title is fine. Just a little discrepancy (which is rather anal)... Isn't the game Team Fortress 2, not Team Fortress One? Just keep that one in mind.

The description is particularly vague, you obviously summarize the video very quickly, not necessarily a bad thing but it's just something to keep in mind, a little explanation of what you are doing is good. I like how you've linked the server/mod, however... I'm not sure if joncake has a channel, but it's somewhat important that you include his channel in the description if he does. Another suggestion is to include any social media that you have as well, (facebook, twitter)... It's simple enough to link and stops people from having to look for it.

    Final thoughts

    Overall View - 9/10
A great channel (based on the more recent videos) and I hope to see it do well in the future. There is something that should be done with the older videos, that being I'm not sure whether you're actually ashamed of them, or whether you just wanted a more recent review. I'd have to say that if you don't like the older videos yourself, just unlist them. Stops people from seeing bad content that you have. If you do like your old videos and they are all good and such, I'd definitely recommend creating thumbnails for them also, should help them pop out a bit more and get more notice to them. Good job with the channel man, the final thing I can say is that you have to keep going with consistent videos. It's difficult to see a schedule in what you have at the moment, and there seems to be large gaps in between videos. Try and upload more frequently, and if you can't just stick to a schedule and do all you can to make the best videos that you can make. Good luck for the future.

    One Random Video - 6/10
Video picked - "Minecraft Snapshot: 13W02B"

    Video Quality - 3/10
Quality seems acceptable, but you should definitely look into doing videos in 720p. There is a lot to improve on here, for starters in your introduction your aspect ratio is completely wrong for standard YouTube. Try recording a 1280x720 window, using software like sizer to help you out, I'd recommend looking up a tutorial or something on what to set sizer to. When you get in-game, it almost seems like a 16:9 aspect ratio, but there is no way of telling. For some reason your footage recorded in Minecraft is smaller then whatever you set your video to render at. Again, all this can be somewhat fixed just by watching a simple tutorial. Frame rate seems good, although I assume that's because you're not recording in 720p. If the files come out too big, there are good compressors and other things that use different codecs to allow smaller file size with close to the same quality. It's worth a shot if that is your problem.

    Audio Quality - 7/10
Mic quality is definitely acceptable and relatively good. You lose points here for the background noise. Try using audacity or a similar audio software with a noise removal plugin. That should fix your background noise for you without sounding weird. You may have to fiddle with the settings a little bit.

    Commentary Consistency - 8/10
It's good, you know what you're talking about and are (relatively) prepared. There are a few things you obviously didn't plan out before hand but your consistency was great, you managed to keep talking without awkward silences or similar faults. Good job.

Voice Type and Pitch - 7/10
Your pitch is absolutely fine, and your voice type for the most part is absolutely fine too. The only thing I can say is that you're sounding perhaps a little monotone, a little bit bored. Try stick some enthusiasm into it, be more excited about the snapshot and sound like you're enjoying yourself. People love to hear happy and enthusiastic people. Otherwise it's all good.

    Video Content - 7/10
Honestly it's a tricky thing to do. It's very helpful for those who are interested and have not seen the bigger youtubers do the exact/a better video. You're in competition doing the snapshot videos with people like Captain Sparklez, and unless you get a good jump on his videos and/or more information then he or other bigger youtubers are going to get more attention. Perhaps make it more unique, try and summarize everything in the snapshot in 30 seconds with interesting ways of showing the new features off, perhaps have everything connected to each other. It would take a little more preparation but otherwise those videos in particular won't do very well.

    Background - 5/10
The background is okay, but it honestly just looks like you've slapped some text (or whoever created it) onto a googled background. Make it more relevant to yourself, perhaps include a logo in there or something to strengthen your brand and who you are. If you're not a photoshop user then it's tricky to do I realize, but there are lots of designers looking for free stuff to do to fill the time, and even templates that have been made ready for you or anyone else just to change the text to your channel name. This is what I suggest you do, unless you know how to use photoshop in which case I advise you spend a few hours working on a decent background.

    Thumbnails - 6/10
Some of your thumbnails are relatively good, some are not. For starters, looking at the old thumbnails you used to use, I'd suggest you go back and change them to different thumbnails per series. A thumbnail should represent either a video or an episode of a series. Your more recent thumbnails aren't horrible. Your skyblock one for example is probably your best one, however... The colour is a little harsh on the eyes with the light background, try to keep dark colours for light backgrounds and vice versa. The "With Evan" is also a little small and requires my focus to see. You want your thumbnails to pop out and force people to see them, not for them to have to look to actually see what is going on. For your survival series your thumbnails seem to be the wrong size, again - keep the size of the image 1280x720. This is also suggested by YouTube. That way you wont have the Minecraft cutting off at the top and the black bars at the sides. For FrogCraft it's a similar problem with skyblock. The colour of the text makes it a little harder to see. Try also moving the text down a little, as it has no need to be right at the top.

    Metadata - 6/10
Based on the video I saw, your title is fine, it explains what the video is about. Maybe try add a "features" after the "13W02B", but it's fine either way.

The description is a little bad. Maybe just summarize all of the features of the snapshot and or just describe what you're doing in the video. Glad to see you are linking, however... Stick in an "" in front of all your links, otherwise viewers would have to copy and paste in order to view the links. Adding the http:// allows them to click it straight away.

    One Random Video - 5/10
    Video picked - "MCSG w/schnikes #2"

    Video Quality - 5/10
Video quality is okay, at this point anyone and everyone should be uploading in 720p. The files do come out bigger, but a lot of viewers will not watch the video if there is no 720p... Aspect ratio is wrong, try using a program like sizer or something to chose the dimensions, sizer also counts the window as part of the dimensions, so it's not quite correct. Just simply look up "sizer real 720p tutorial", you should be able to find something. Likewise the frame rate doesn't quite seem perfect, try not to run any other programs while playing Minecraft, they may slow it down. There are other tips and tricks to increasing frame rate around, try use optifine for instance. It works well.

    Audio Quality - 6/10
Mic quality is reasonably good, you're breathing into the mic a lot though. If you're using a headset, keep it to the side of your face, not in front of your mouth. If you're using a desktop microphone, don't talk straight into it, try talking from a different angle. Finally, there is a slight background noise which can quite easily be fixed with Audacity. Just shove the audio file into audacity and use the noise removal tool until it's gone.

    Commentary Consistency - 4/10
Honestly, it's not great. A lot of the time you are silent, or just breathing into your microphone. Try to talk more, a lot of PVP games work much better if you have a friend or companion to play with. Try playing with a friend, should be better.

Voice Type and Pitch - 3/10
Again, not great. You sound very shy, and are talking very quietly (while the audio isn't quiet itself, you're talking as if you are hiding the fact you're talking into a microphone). I'm not sure if it's because you're embarrassed about what you do or if you're just not quite comfortable yet. Try find time to record when you're alone in the house, and just let yourself relax. It just doesn't sound like you're enjoying the game, which is something people don't want to see, unless there is a grumpy comedy effect going on. Once again, recording with a friend or just another youtuber will really help all of this.

    Video Content - 5/10
Playing survival games on YouTube is a great aspect of Minecraft. The concept and idea is there, it's just your delivery that is lacking. It will definitely be more entertaining if you either liven up a bit or play with another youtuber. It sounds like you've played Survival Games so much that you're slightly bored of it. That doesn't make for great content. I like the idea, no matter how many people say how "over-saturated" it is, just work on it and it will get better.

    Background - 3/10
Very very basic design, it's obvious you weren't really trying too much. If you are somewhat photoshop savvy, I'd suggest you went ahead and made something a little more advanced... If you're not, there are lots of tutorials on how to make backgrounds and such, even various templates available for you to fill in your name and be on your way. You may need photoshop for the templates, but Adobe are good and offer a 30 day free trial. Just try to make it a little more interesting, your background very much reflects on your creativity, while you're not directly feeling like you're going to subscribe to someone for their background, it just helps the general feel of the channel, and allows people to think that you put a lot of effort into what you do. Keep in mind as you're not a full partner, you have a 1MB limit on your background... This will affect things greatly, as it's tricky to keep a large image under such restraints. Just make sure you don't lose quality for file size. It's definitely not worth it.

    Thumbnails - N/A
No thumbnails, assuming you don't have access to custom thumbnails so I can't judge you on this.

    Metadata - 7/10
Based on the video I saw, your title is okay, going into the video I didn't realise that MCSG was going to be Minecraft Survival Games, but that's just me. Your title is pretty short anyway, so you probably don't need to abbreviate, if I were to suggest a title: "MC: Survival Games w/schnikes - #01". The "#01" part really depends on how many episodes you're going to be doing. It looks a little weird going from single digits to double digits, so keep the 0 in there too.

Your description seems okay, the only thing I can suggest is to provide some links, perhaps for social media if you have any profiles setup (twitter, facebook). Maybe also provide an IP to the server that you are playing on, I'm assuming it's public so it should stop the viewers from asking.

    Final thoughts

At this point I'm assuming you're pretty new to the YouTube scene, and I've been reviewing one of your first videos. I realize this could be somewhat redundant as in the first few weeks of being a YouTuber you tend to improve an awful lot. It's not a great time to be new, but that doesn't stop people from growing big. When I started I had terrible videos, you are doing better then I was doing. Take comfort in the fact that you can take some of these points and really consider them as you drive yourself into the YouTube scene. Good luck man.

Video picked - "Building Review #2 Part 2 - Estate Agent Madness"

    Video Quality - 10/10
Video quality seems fine, framerate seems good, quality seems good. Good job.

    Audio Quality - 3/10
Audio quality is completely messed up. First thing I noticed was your mic quality wasn't great, it's acceptable, but it had some background noise. I had my volume turned up on full to actually hear you at a normal level, go ahead and turn yourself up. I'd also suggest if you're using a desktop microphone to get yourself a pop filter, it helps prevent noise coming from the sounds that you use that require you to exhale more air. If you're using a headset, simply don't put your microphone in front of your mouth, but rather straight on from the headphone itself. When your friend started talking, I was in pain. His volume was a lot louder then yours was, so when I turned the volume back down to hear your friend at a normal level. I could no longer hear you very well. My best suggestion is to record your voice seperately to your stereo mix (skype, or whichever program you were using). Simple trick to do this is to use Audacity to record your voice, and use fraps/recording program to record the stereo mix. You'd still have to sort out audio levels for game sound and skype sound, but you can hear those so they're easier to sort out. This way, you'll have two different channels when editing, one being your voice, one being your friends. This way you can easily match the levels to make you both sound like you're talking at the same loudness. The slow motion was very strange as well...

    Commentary Consistency - 7/10
It's good, just when you're doing comedy sketches like this, try and prepare them just a little more before you go ahead and record the final copy. It wasn't bad, but it could be improved.

Voice Type and Pitch - 8/10
Both of you have good voices, and good pitch types. Not much I can really say about this, when there are two of you, it's easier to sound relaxed and more interested in the video.

    Video Content - 8/10
An interesting concept, having a comedy type sketch using the building that you are reviewing, then doing a serious review at the end of it. For the part where you are both talking and rating, the only thing I suggest is putting some very basic music in the background, even if it's a simple drum track to keep it flowing. Good job otherwise.

    Background - 5/10
The background is very simple and very boring. There isn't a whole lot you can do with a 1MB limit, but I'd suggest reading or watching a few tutorials on making some better backgrounds. Including a texture overlay in the background tends to be a good way to make the whole thing polished, at the same time using a gradient of some sort to give it a bit more definition.

    Thumbnails - 5/10
Thumbnails are again a little boring here and there, they're okay and somewhat suitable, but in some places the text is hard to see, try making the font simple and bold, and then blending a little into the background. Don't make your viewers have to squint to read text. Not bad otherwise.

    Metadata - 7/10
Based on the video I saw, title is pretty good, the only thing I can suggest is to include Minecraft somewhere in the title for those who have searched for similar videos but don't want to see minecraft.

Description is also good. You summarise what you do in the video, you provide links to everything you should have except maybe the texture pack you are using, it's simple to put in the description and stops people from asking what it is. Your lines don't quite need to be spaced out so much in the description. Try using equal signs aswell, it's down to personal preference but equal signs to seperate the summary from the links always looks good in my opinion. (Then carry on using lines inbetween the links.

Video picked - "Minecraft: Gaming Character Smackdown - Minecraft: Gaming Character Smackdown Week 2: Doodle Jump and Angry Bird Voting"

    Video Quality - 7/10
Quality itself seems pretty good, framerate seems a little laggy, it's not as easy to tell. Try running only the recording software and minecraft at one time, other windows could be causing lag, turning down settings in minecraft is another viable option, but looking at the fog it looks like you already have done that.

    Audio Quality - 9/10
Mic quality is absolutely fine, try not to talk directly into the mic though, as you blew into the mic a couple times, causing unnecessary noise. Levels were all okay, so that should be fine. Game audio was impossible to tell so I wont judge you on that.

    Commentary Consistency - 9/10
You knew what you were doing before the video started, you planned it out. Nothing more you could have done.

Voice Type and Pitch - 8/10
Voice type is fine, perhaps a little dull, try to talk with different levels of enthusiasm, at the end of the video you talked about your social media, that was probably the right amount of enthusiasm. Pitch is absolutely fine, nothing to worry about there.

    Video Content - 8/10
A good idea, allowing viewer interaction to take over the show. The only thing I can suggest with things like these is a little better editing, try make it a little fancier, read up a few tutorials on video effects and such like that, instead of just using standard presets. Not sure why Angry Bird had no music to go along with it, but I'm sure you have your reasons. I like the idea a lot man, good job with it.

    Background - 9/10
It's good and has obviously been made by a designer for your specific channel. However, it's just a tad boring is all, a few more bits and pieces down the sides of the video would have been nice to see. Not sure "TheGentlemenTV" is needed in front of the TGTV. Also try to include little logos to click on, (for facebook, your designer and socialblade), they're always nicer to see then standard text.

    Thumbnails - 7/10
Thumbnails are good, there isn't a whole lot of brand strengthening going on within the thumbnails, for the most part, they are all quite different. However, they are all different series' on different games from what I can see, so that's acceptable. Text is a little hard on the eyes with some of the thumbnails, try to keep the text simple, but still interesting at the same time, when text gets scaled down it loses the value of the effects it has on it. Good job though.

    Metadata - 6/10
Based on the video I saw, title is repeated? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, I would just get rid of the first "Minecraft: Gaming Character Showdown". You might also want to condense it so the whole title will fit on one line, abbreviating Minecraft to MC and changing words like "and" to a plus sign tend to shorten it a little as well.

Description seems good, simply describing what is happening on screen. Actually including the Angry Bird and Doodle Jump character in the description won't do you harm. A little self advertising in the description is fine and good, try to keep links short by using a link shrinker, like bitly or tinyurl. Description is good though.

    Video Quality - 8/10
It looks pretty good for the most part. The only thing I'm noticing is slight stretching (well... squeezing). The whole video looks a little squished in the x dimension. This could be due to slightly wrong dimensions, and then your editing software automatically making it fit into a 16:9 aspect ratio. Try using sizer, or recording fullscreen on a monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio resolution. (Keep in mind that sizer includes the whole window, including the trim around the edge for resizing the program, there are a few tutorials out there explaining the correct resolution to put into sizer).

    Audio Quality - 8/10
Everything is fine quality wise, just the levels are very low. At maxed out volume, (with my headphones and youtubes volume control and my PC volume control) it sounds just about right, a little bit quiet. However, if I went onto another video right now, my ears would be in pain. Try to compare your audio levels to youtube videos that sound right to you. Other then that, it's all good, just turn up the master volume and it will sound better.

    Commentary Consistency - 8/10
You seem to be the opposite kind of the usual nervous. In a way that you repeat yourself and fill in gaps with "umm"'s and "but umm yeah"'s. It doesn't take away from the point you're trying to make, but it's just not needed and highly noticeable. Try to get your fluency and timing correct, pace yourself and slow down a little. I would imagine it's because you're trying to talk quickly. Try to limit the amount of umm's and uhh's you're saying. Be a little prepared when doing update videos like this as well, have some basic notes to keep you remembering and staying on topic.

Voice Type and Pitch - 9/10
Voice type is good, you don't sound bored or unenthusiastic. Your pitch is a little higher then I would have expected but there is nothing wrong with that, many successful YouTubers have higher pitched voices then you do. Good Job at having a good voice, even though you had no control over it.

The actual video seemed to be a simple update video. I would highly recommend steering away from having update videos in the middle of a let's play series, this being because anyone who is watching in the future will be hearing irrelevant stuff that doesn't matter to them. You could still do stuff from your FTB World, just try not to make it a part of the series. Another recommendation which will help with voice consistency is recording your voice seperately. That way you can structure your sentences a little better and make edits here and there. It's not bad, I just didn't learn a whole lot about your world, just about your video schedule and stuff like that. Stuff that might not even be relevant today.

    Background - 7/10
You've said a new background is on the way, so I wont get into this much, just a few tips for the new one, make sure it fades to the background colour you have set on YouTube (in this case it's black currently), make sure you keep it relatively simple, and save it as a PNG (to keep it under 1MB you might have to sacrifice a few things, but it's better to have quality).

    Thumbnails - N/A
Said custom thumbnails are on the way, no thumbnails yet so I can't judge this.

    Metadata - 5/10
Based on the video I saw, your title is a little jumbled. For starters, it's a little too long, youtube only shows me up to the "important" part on the video page. Try decreasing the length by abbreviating "Minecraft" to "MC", getting rid of the "ModPack" part, and changing a few bits here and there. This is my suggestion "MC: FTB Direwolf20 - EP15/#015 - Building Our Base + Important Updates!" Obviously picking between EP15 and #015. At the moment it's not even spaced out, it's just something that can be improved.

Description seems good, only thing I will say is that you don't need capital letters for each word, keep the description grammatically correct. I can understand capital letters in the title of the video, but it should be limited to the beginning of a sentence in the description. Glad to see you have linked everything that you should have, you've included extra information about yourself which is also good. The "title tags" at the bottom are pointless in my opinion, but I won't strike you for that because lots of people do it.

You seem to be someone who really strives for success on Youtube. It's good to see you're sticking to a schedule and from briefly looking over it, you've stuck to it thus far. Keep doing what you're doing with some of my advice in mind and you should do well. Good luck to you in the future sir.

Be patient, depending on time zones I could be busy, sleeping, or reviewing other channels first, the order in which I will review is a first come first serve.

Today has been a busy day, I'll get some done if not all on the waiting list so far tomorrow.

Certainly, I'll just review the one video, if you want me to review the rest of your channel I will. I'll only do this video though.

    Video - 6/10
Video picked - "Minecraft Episode 1: Adventure Time"

    Video Quality - 7/10
Quality is okay, aspect ratio is wrong. Try to keep your Minecraft game fullscreen mode on a 16:9 aspect ratio monitor, or just get a program called "Sizer" which will allow you to set the dimensions of the game yourself, then when you record it should come out right in the video.

    Audio Quality - 7/10
The quality is average, there is definitely some background noise that could go. Try and get audacity which is an audio editing program which will allow you to remove background noise and clear a few things up too. I'd recommend getting a better microphone in the long run too. Occasionally your audio is also peaking, this is where it's too loud (usually when you're clearing your throat) and the audio distorts, creating unpleasant sounds and sometimes it's even painful for the viewer, so try turning yourself down a little in the mix.

    Commentary Consistency - 4/10
This is obviously something you're not particularly used to. You seem to sometimes stumble on your sentences and have small gaps every now and then. You also seem to need to clear your throat a lot. xD Drink some water or something man, I'm not sure if you're doing it for comical effect or your throat is a little fucked at the moment. Either way try to be a little more consistent with your sentence structure.

Voice Type and Pitch - 7/10
Your voice seems a little monotone at the moment, a little strange perhaps. It's not bad but it could do with a bit more liveliness.

    Video Content - 6/10
As you will probably know, doing a Minecraft LP is very over-saturated on YouTube. There is a potential for it to still work out for anyone. It's just less likely then it was when these things were first coming out. I would try recording a series with a friend or another personality that you can counteract with. In the LP too, go ahead and make sure you edit out the boring collection bits and include the interesting stuff. Viewers really don't tend to watch people cutting wood for 5 minutes anymore. You're new, so there is a lot of room and time to improve, keep doing what you're doing, eventually talking to the microphone will come a bit more naturally to you and you'll sound a little less uncomfortable. Good luck man.

rsmovactorThank's for the review! Original film date was this week, but I've pushed it back a few week's since I'm getting a better computer, I'd rather not rush and have a higher frame-rate footage, since this computer is quite crap. But thank's for the honest review, If your personally interested in the project, I can contact you in a few weeks to a month when the first trailer is out.

Yeah hit me up with a message on here when it comes out, I'd love to see it man. A good choice with the higher frame rate too, definitely worth waiting for.

Video picked - "Minecraft: Lord of the Rings Adventure Map - Episode 2"

    Video Quality - 10/10
Video quality is great, you've got yourself the correct aspect ratio and a good HD video. Not much I can say about it, good job.

    Audio Quality - 5/10
Your mic quality is amazing, great, you've done yourself well in getting a good mic and creating a sound friendly atmosphere around you, so a very good job with that. The music made no sense to me whatsoever, you were playing a lord of the rings adventure map with some dubstep/techno in the background... I would suggest playing some royalty free music of a similar genre (to lord of the rings music) to create that extra atmospheric feel to the playthrough. Did you record game sound? I honestly can't hear any sounds from MineCraft itself.

    Commentary Consistency - 7/10
You have good consistency, you're often talking and there aren't awkward silences or things like that, I would say you remind me of a younger Syndicate with your attitude and commentary style (take that as a compliment ). One little thing was a cough in the video, it was loud and slightly painful. Even though you're doing a live playthrough, feel free to edit out parts where such things happen.

Voice Type and Pitch - 5/10
Now... Obviously, you're younger. Thus you have a rather high pitched voice. To be blunt, your viewer base is pretty much only going to consist of people similar to you, similar of your age. The harsh truth is that a lot of viewers don't like watching people younger then them, and will complain and harass people because of their age. If you're thick skinned, you can carry on with no problems, but as you get bigger you WILL have people complain about this sort of thing. So either; wait a few years (YouTube is showing no signs of disappearing, regardless of what people say, there are always new people getting bigger, and there always will be). Or carry on with the understanding of who your viewers are, and that people can be real assholes when it comes to things like this. It wont be long before your voice will drop and from then on you'll be fine.

    Video Content - 8/10
Playing through MineCraft adventure maps has always been a great thing on YouTube, so you doing so will with no doubt continue to entertain people. Obviously I'm a little confused with the audio, but I'm sure you'll either fix the problems or ignore my suggestions, both of which are fine. One big problem was the way you ended the video, you got it half right. Always fade both video and audio at the end of each episode, then carry on the next episode with a few seconds from the previous episode to give people a quick recap on what just happened.

    Background - 8/10
Your background is good for a non partner, I personally try to keep away from side text just because it's difficult to read without slanting your head. Only thing I will say is to set your background colour to black, currently it's white and there is a harsh transition from the image to the background on YouTube.

    Thumbnails - N/A
Judging by the fact you don't have custom thumbnails, I will assume you don't have the feature yet and cannot judge you on this.

    Metadata - 8/10
Based on the selected random video your metadata is pretty good, your title explains what the game is and what you are doing in the game along with the episode, simple and is all you need. Your description likewise just briefly explains what the video is about. Remember to include "" before your links, otherwise people can't click on them and will have to copy and paste. Nice metadata otherwise man.

Keeping in mind the fact that you are young at the moment, your channel is pretty good, you seem to be doing pretty well at the moment with 171 subs and everything seems to be flowing smoothly. I do hope you are free of any hate or discrimination because of your age/high voice, but if you do get it, try to keep a thick skin and think about what kind of person rips on people over the internet. Good luck to you in the future sir.

    Video picked - "MW3 Troll-tage #1"

    Video Quality - 9/10
Obviously captured with an HD recording device, so it's near enough the best quality you will get out of one the modern day console capturing devices. An HD PVR would be my guess. Only thing I can pull you back on is slight black lines around the edges of the videos, simple cropping can get rid of this and have the gameplay take up the whole screen. Other then that it's all good.

    Audio Quality - 10/10
Game audio quality was absolutely fine as expected, music was fine as expected and levels are great so good job.

    Commentary Consistency - N/A
No voice so I can't judge.

Voice Type and Pitch - N/A
No voice so I can't judge.

    Video Content - 6/10
Trolling people on FPS Games when pulled off can be hilarious. You obviously were trying to troll the people there, however, it doesn't make great video if there is no angered response. Usually in most of these troll videos there is a victim getting pissed off as he is trapped in a corner. It's still entertaining, but it doesn't create the same effect. Not to mention sneaking up behind someone while infected isn't really trolling, it's just good tactics. A fun video to watch though.

    Background - 5/10
Slightly boring, try something outside of the banner too, A black background isn't bad, it's just not taking advantage of the creativity that can be put in there to help a viewer enjoy the whole experience more. The 3D text and machinima and twitter buttons are low quality, if they were higher quality again it would help the look of your channel.

    Thumbnails - 5/10
Not many thumbnails used, and where they are used again; they are boring. Make something a little more then just text and a coloured background. Thumbnails are what make your videos stand out in the suggestions bar.

    Metadata - 8/10
Based on the video I saw, the video title is absolutely fine, and the description "Trololololo!" is actually rather fitting considering the video. I'll check another video to provide a little more. For the most part your titles and descriptions are pretty relevant, just try explaining the videos a bit more in the description.

All things considered and the fact you've told me you think your videos are not particularly amazing and that you've unlisted a bunch and are now focusing on different things and can't focus on your channel right now, I suppose you're probably not surprised about my review. However, I will say that any type of machinima is right up my street, as it's how I even came about to youtube communities in the first place. I'll keep an eye out for your feature length, good luck if/when you start your channel up again.

Video picked - "The Hidden - S01E02 - Herbert The Pervert"

    Video Quality - 10/10
Video quality is spot on, correct aspect ratio, nice HD, no black bars or white lines. Nicely done.

    Audio Quality - 8/10
Audio quality seems very good too, everyone on call seemed to have good quality with little/no background noise and the game sound wasn't too loud, and wasn't too quiet. Even if someone on call didn't have a good microphone I wouldn't penalize you there anyway, as it's out of your control. Only problem was at around 5:50 the audio went a lot quieter compared with the rest of the video. Not sure why.

    Commentary Consistency - 8/10
Difficult to judge when there are more of you and when it's playing a casual game. Based on what I could see though you all seemed to get along well together and have a laugh which is important. You sound like you are enjoying yourself which is key. Occasionally there were times when everyone was quiet and it didn't sound right, but for the most part that was because you were all focused on the game.

Voice Type and Pitch - 9/10
Again difficult to judge when there are multiple people, but everyone sounds easy and clear to listen to and understand, and the pitch is all okay. Good job.

    Video Content - 8/10
Hidden is a great game and has recently jumped back up and alive with 'famous' YouTubers giving it good exposure, it's definitely a YouTube friendly game. The only thing I suggest is to clip edit. By this I mean condense it down to a 3-4 minute video with just the funny and or good parts of the video. If someone says something funny, keep it in, if you get a good kill keep it in. This will ensure the viewer to keep watching instead of clicking away in the middle of the video. A good job otherwise, I'm a big fan of hidden myself so I might be a little biased.

    Background - 6/10
Nice to see a partnered channel with a banner. The background is good, it's just boring is all. A very simple background, just needs tuning here and there to make it more interesting, have some more blending with the text so it doesn't just look slapped on and plain. With the new YouTube layout coming along I would suggest you just leave it and create a better banner as backgrounds will no longer exist. If you chose to improve it there are plenty of tutorials on how to use photoshop and make backgrounds or just standard techniques used in these graphics programs.

    Thumbnails - 9/10
Thumbnails are great, I can see what the video is about, the size is correct the text is clear. I would recommend moving the episode numbers to the other side of the thumbnail, just because the length of the video gets in the way of the second number, making it harder to see. Other then that, good job with them.

    Metadata - 8/10
Based on the selected random video the title is very good and fine, nothing needs changing. You've mentioned the game name, the episode and season and a separate "joke" title to name the video.

The description is okay, could include a little more about what the hidden is for those that don't know and also explain that it requires so and so game to play and a link to the mod itself. Just a few bits here and there to make it a little more detailed.

A good channel with lots of potential. However, looking at your views, where your views came from, and the amount of subscribers that you have. I'm going out of my way to say that there are two different potential scenarios here, one of which is that you are buying views, two of which is that YouTube has really messed up especially for your videos. I will have to suggest that if it is the first, just stop. You'll get caught and you'll be banned, I know how difficult it is to get views but you can't have another account once you've been banned, and that would suck. However, I could be wrong, and if I am I do apologize if you are offended by such an accusation. I'm only trying to help. You guys have a great channel and I look forward to seeing it rise in the future. Good luck guys.

    One Random Video - 7/10
Video picked - "Llewyn and Nymph play - Craft Fighter"

    Video Quality - 8/10
Quality is difficult to rate with an indie game like this. First of all I've never played the game myself so I'm not sure what it should look like, but I have to say it looks good and high quality from what I can tell. Black bars on the sides are hard to judge as a lot of these indie games don't offer aspect ratios suitable for YouTube, if there is an option for a 16:9 aspect ratio chose that, it will get rid of the black bars for you. If not, I'd leave it as it is as it's preferable compared with actually stretching the video.

    Audio Quality - 4/10
Your microphone is clear and good quality. However, there is a ton of background noise coming through. I'd suggest recording voice and game sound in separate tracks. This way you could load your voice track into free audio software, like "Audacity" and use a noise removal tool to get rid of the background noise, there will be tutorials to minimize background noise all over YouTube, but the best way is to find the source and try and keep the mic as far away as possible. If the mic is causing the background noise I suggest you buy a new one.

Levels are something that need to be monitored and if you record separate tracks then you can do this easily, simply by raising the volume of yourselves and lowering the volume of the game. Nymph was a lot quieter so have her closer to the mic. If you can't find a way to record separate tracks for free just simply do a sound check before hand, it's always safe to have the game volume relatively low anyway.

    Commentary Consistency - 7/10
With two people involved this one becomes hard to judge, you were both completely blind going into this game and so improv is obviously key and both of you are relatively good at this. Obviously going into a game blind creates a comical effect which is also good.

Voice Type and Pitch - 9/10
Both of you have good voices and put together they work well to create entertaining content. You both seem comfortable with talking into a microphone so it's all good. Pitch is absolutely fine too.

    Video Content - 7/10
Trying out indie games blind (with no prior knowledge about the game) is always better for entertaining the viewers from a funny standpoint. AKA, you have no idea what you're doing, people laugh. Trying out indie games however is a very tough thing to get recognized, a lot of viewers are only comfortable seeing games that they've played and that they watch already, so introducing new indie games will always get less views. Similar to a musician who does cover songs. Their cover songs always do well but their original content always lacks attention because that's not what the viewers were looking for. A good job though.

    Background - 4/10
Honestly, it's very difficult to know what is going on in the background. From what I can see you have it tiled and fixed. The only thing I can recommend is finding a template with a youtube channel in the middle, and design around that. I see a lot of potential in the design it's just not placed right. I'd think you would understand what i mean by this so I wont go into it too much. Other bits of advice, have the scrolling setting ticked, have the background colour set to a similar colour in the actual image background you made. (At the moment it's irrelevant as you have the image set to repeat).

    Thumbnails - N/A
Judging by the fact you've only recently started uploading and the fact that you don't have custom thumbnails set. I would assume you don't have access to that feature yet, so I can't rate this.

    Metadata - 10/10
From what I can see it's all pretty good, the titles explain the video, the descriptions also explain the video. You've linked to external websites where you have needed to, the only thing I can suggest is the track name for the music. Saves people from having to ask.

    Video Quality - 8/10
Quality is good, framerate is good. Only thing I can mention is a white bar at the bottom and a black bar at the side, simple cropping on whatever editing program you use will fix this problem (unsure of windows movie maker, might not be possible). There are plenty of tutorials on how to crop them out. Other then that it's good from what I can tell.

    Audio Quality - 9/10
Good standard quality mic by the sounds of things. The only thing I will say is that the levels need changing a bit, as the music seemed to empower your voice at times, simply turning down the music or turning up your voice should fix this, otherwise, really good quality good job.

    Commentary Consistency - 9/10
Great, a couple of stumbles here and there, looked like due to on screen action, but you knew what you were saying and were very prepared with what you wanted to do and say (obviously due to the type of video it is). Nice Job.

Voice Type and Pitch - 9/10
Can't quite get a grasp of where you're specifically from, sound kind of similar to direwolf20 (hope you can take that as a compliment ). Your accent is pretty cool though, obviously somewhere in America and the pitch is perfectly fine, you're not monotone and sound like you are enjoying yourself which is good. Another one I can't say a whole lot about.

    Video Content - 8/10
An interesting idea, giving simple and quick ideas for people to use in their MineCraft worlds. It's good to see you offer several options, and the fact that you do it in less than 60 seconds is very good. Short, sweet and to the point. The music seems to suit the onscreen action. The only thing I will mention is the texture pack. Especially for what you are doing, you're trying to show people how to make things look good, there is a big indifference in texture packs where while it looks good on your texture pack, it might not look nearly as good in the default texture pack. The majority of MineCraft users stick to the default texture pack, so it would be best, just for these types of videos to do the same. You can use your texture pack in other bits and pieces like let's plays and such.

    Background - 8/10
A decent background, one thing I will mention is brand strengthening, which I will go into on the thumbnails section, but you're doing a good job of it. It seems you have used two MineCraft skins (I'm guessing are yours and your partners?). With a few twists in the graphics sides of things, with various MineCraft creatures around the place. It's simple, good quality and as much as it needs to be (with the 1MB filesize restriction). One thing I will mention is how the pattern overlay (striped lines) and the background hill type thing cut off (little and picky that doesn't really matter, but still). Try and fade them into the background. A great job with it otherwise.

    Thumbnails - 8/10
Okay, onto brand strengthening, you do a great job of it on your channel here, with the font that you use and the two characters that you feature in your background, eventually when more and more people get to know you, they will associate a mixture of this font and display as your "brand". So if they see a video of yours in the suggested column then they will realize it's you straight away. Your thumnails are obviously a great custom to this, as they (for the most part) feature the same font, and one of the thumbnails has your two characters on it. A great job here. A couple things to mention though, for your 60 second videos, the "EP.#" is cut off at the bottom, the only other thing I can think of is that they are a tad boring, but still get the point across and represent a series, using different colours for each episode, a very common and good technique.

    Metadata - 7/10
Based off the selected random video I picked earlier, the title is good, the only thing I would include is the game you are playing somewhere in the title. That's a personal preference as I think viewers that have searched for similar videos who might not know what MineCraft is by picture might be confused. Just a simple "MC" or Minecraft somewhere in the title would do the trick. Otherwise I like how you've included what you're doing, and the title of the series of course. Good Job.

The description is okay, features a brief description which is great, all you need. However, where you have told the viewers what the music and texture pack are, you haven't provided links. For these creators it helps them out a lot if you provide a link, as a few viewers will decide "I cba to search that" where they would have simply clicked before hand. It's not difficult to do, and for the texture pack especially you can use the "Defaults" feature in YouTube settings and always have the link. Try use a link shrinker too, like bitly or tinyurl.

    Final thoughts

A good channel. My only final thought is the worry that uploading will not be frequent. Looking at the dates for your last videos it's slightly concerning, in the sense that in three weeks or so I predict you'll lose motivation to carry on making videos and be back in a month or two. I hope you can prove me wrong for the sake of your fan base and yourselves, as taking large breaks creates a dead sub base. Something which is nice as a number, but doesn't add up to the amount of comments or views that you get. Other then that I have to admit it's a good channel, you have some good ideas with it and assuming it's a partnership channel (you and another person), there will be lots of content you guys can create to get a bigger fan base. Good luck to the future man. Hope you enjoyed the review.
