A few of these used to live inside an electrical box or whatever on the side of my house. I don't know why they would've chosen that spot as their home since they usually burrow into wood to raise their young as the name suggests. Maybe there were wood parts inside the box? Or it was just convenient for them? Female carpenter bees only sting when they get bothered or caught and male carpenter bees can't sting at all, so they weren't bothersome there. If they had nested anywhere else though like in the wooden parts of the house that would've been a problem.

A lot of bugs have been showing up again as it gets warmer here, although it keeps getting super cold again. The only bees I've seen so far are bumblebees, so I'm pretty excited for when all the other types of flying critters start emerging for good. :]
