Hey everyone !
I'm here to introduce my first Forge Mod, for Minecraft 1.8 or 1.8.1.
The mod's name is KlondikCraft. If you ever wanted to feel like Uncle Scrooge (oncle Picsou pour les français), this is what you need ! With KlondikCraft, you can craft and use sieves. These ones will help you filter the water of rivers, so you can earn a few golden nuggets to survive in the hostile gold rush !
I-The net and sievers
At this moment, the only purpose of the net is to craft sieves. Here is it's craft :
Now you have your net, you can make some sieves. They are three of them, made of wood, iron, an pyrite. They are very easy to use : just right-click some sand in a river, and maybe you'll find a raw nugget or a pebble.
The wooden sieve can be used 20 times before it breaks. It's craft is quit instinctive:
The iron sieve can be used 120 times before it breaks ! Plus, it's less likely to give you a pebble when you use it.
Finally, the pyrite sieve... You can use it 70 times, and it gives you the frozen river bonus in any river. It also reduce your chances to get pebbles, and double your chances to get flint. One again, the craft is obvious:
II-What you can get from the sieves
At first, let's talk about raw nuggets. Theses are like pebbles with either a gold nugget in it... or a pyrite nugget. You can stack them by 16, and you can't know what they are made of until you melt them in a furnace.
Interesting fact: you get twice more raw nuggets in a frozen river biome than in a river biome. So, if you're not afraid of getting a cold, jump in!
Now, here is the item you'll hate the most: the pebble. At first, you'll think it's cute: it's nice, soft, and oddly looks like a heart. But you will soon hate them: they will fill your inventory, until your pockets are full to bursting!
The only good thing about them is that you can craft a cobblestone block with 9 of them.
III-Pyrite
Even though most of the pyrite you'll find will come from raw nuggets, you can also find it when you are mining. It's ore is almost exactly like a gold ore, but will give you a pyrite Ingot when you melt it.
Of course, ingots can be crafted into pyrite nuggets, and pyrite nuggets into pyrite ingots, but that's not all.
You can use the ingots to make beautiful blocks like this:
And then chisel these blocks like this:
OK, a decorative block is not always a great block, so, by now, you can make pyrite blocks look like gold blocks! At first, you'll have to craft gold sheets:
And now, just cover your pyrite block with gold sheets:
Looks like a gold block, doesn't it? Sell it for 3 diamonds to some random guys, and watch him rage when he realize it's not gold !
To check if a block of gold is actually gold, try to scratch a flint on it. You can do it like a craft, or use a flint on a block you already set.
You can use a gold sheet on a scratched pyrite block to make it look like a gold block again, or scratch it a second time to remove all the gold:
Well, I'm done, thank you for your attention !
Ho, and please report me any bug, any issue you have, any suggestion, you have about this mod !
And forgive me for my bad english...
