Push

Push is a simple plugin that allows a user to 'push' a command to the console while in-game. Push will work on just about any server version, but functionality may break the farther back you go into bukkit, spigot, etc. builds. If in the future Push is broken by an update, I will update it, as I use it on my own server.

Commands

  • /push

Usage: /push <command>

Pushes the command you choose to the console.

Example: "/push time set night" - This will cause the console to set the time to night.

Example 2: "/push gamemode 1 Fudool8" - This will set Fudool8's gamemode to creative via the console.

Permissions

  • push.use

Any user with this permission will be allowed to use the push.use command.

That's it, enjoy. If you find any bugs or would like to see something similar and useful within the plugin, let me know.

...Isn't this just essentially "sudo"..?

Not at all. Sudo simply makes another user run a command. Push makes the /console/ run the command.

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean the traditional Minecraft plugin /sudo. I meant, the actual traditional sudo, such as in Linux distros. Those run the command under root, which is what essentially this plugin does.

Then, yeah, sorta. I didn't want to go with sudo though because so many people already associate that with essential's sudo or another plugin's sudo command. But as far as I know, there isn't a popular plugin that already does this, but as another comment said, it'll probably phase out as soon as the /execute command comes out with the next update, unless I add some more stuff to it. Regardless, nice to see your comment here, you're a pretty active PMC member from what I see around the site, mostly forums.

Haha, I'm not actually that active. And yeah; not many plugins make the CONSOLE perform the command. This could be abused bad if not controlled, but it'll most certainly be useful, especially for some commands that only console can do, for some reason.

Yeah the core aspect of it is that console overrides any permissions systems. Console does not require permission, and is also, like you said, some commands are console only. But yeah, it could be abused, but I'd only give the permission to use this to those whom I REALLY trust. :P

Neat, but this will most likely become useless when the /execute command gets added in the new official version.

Didn't know that was a thing. Oh well. I've been using Push for around 3 MC updates, so it's been useful for me. Thanks for the info though :)

Well, that's why it runs with permissions....
