(Yes, I know this is cursed.)
"What if the Polar Express electrified?"
"it'll probably be pulled by a Bi-polar."
The EP-2 "Bipolar" (Which referred to their bipolar electric motors) was an electric locomotive operated by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (Milwaukee Road) from 1919 to 1960. They were the most powerful electric locomotive of the time and were one of the most distinctive. There were 5 units in total and each locomotive was manufactured by General Electric. They are 23.16 meters (76 ft.) long and have an AAR arrangement of 1B-D+D-B1, as well as use 3000 V DC catenary. In 1953, the EP-2s went through extensive rebuilding, which made the locomotives more modern for that time. Between 1958 and 1960, all units were scrapped except for unit E-2, which is still preserved at the Museum of Transportation at Kirkwood, Missouri.
The variant I built was the pre-rebuild version, while the original Lionel O-gauge model was the rebuilt variation.
