~*{The Emerald Queen}*~
Description
So, here we are having come full circle, this is a remake of my first serious ship, The Emerald Queen, now ofcourse, a hundred times more serious :) I built this to be the ultimate Pirate ship basically. This is easily, the best ship I've done, and I'm quite proud of it, it got the best hull, the best sails and the most detailed interior, and it's also the best planned ship so far as well. Everything from keel to flagpole was drawn prior to placing a block ingame.
So, why did I even remake a ship I've allready done? Because I love the idea behind the Emerald queen, the Theme and the general.. atmosphere this ship provides. Also, when I looked back at the ship I first built, I just felt that it needed a remake, couldn't stand how it didn't live up to it's potential. And What exactly have I made? The main features that I have rethought is the bow, the stern/transom and the sails. It now has 4 masts instead of 3, the bow has a much more flowing shape that works better with the rest of the ship, and the stern is higher, more dynamic and sports a large church like window from the temple. Also, I added a dragon head here, because why the heck not, lol.
The sails didn't really work with the all green I had on the old ship, so I made them all black and a few with green patterns instead. Also, there are 34 sails, which is the most I've done ever on a ship, meaning it's a fully rigged ship with all the sails a ship of this type could possibly have, to my knowledge at least.
Numbers
type: 1st rate ship of the line converted -> Pirate galleon
length overall: 146 blocks
beam: 19 blocks
rig height: 130 blocks
weight: (probably around 1700 tons if it were real)
draught: 8 blocks
guns: 110
decks: 5 (+3 including superstructure)
masts: 4
sails: 34
sail area: ~9000m²
Project time: ~55h
Important!
Now, this also happens to be the first time ever that I've used the
metadata textures in conquest, and I've used a lot of them, so please, I
have to stress this, use conquest with optifine when exploring this
ship! :) Chunky unfortunately cannot render the metadata textures, so
I've had to take screenshots, which I don't really like ^^. And just for
the record, the awesome deck plan image, took me about 6 hours to
complete lol.
It's possible that I might update this ship with
some additional lore and details, like ingame books and so on, depending
on what you people think and If I think it's worth it. And also I feel
I've been on quite a roll since I returned from last disactivity, and
I'd like to "end" for now with a high, and this is probably as high as
I'm going to get in terms of ship building. I havn't decided yet but I
may take a little brake starting from now, or perhaps I'm simply taking a
brake from ship building and work on something different, I havea few
other plans. So until then, Enjoy!! :D
Terms
You may use the ship for your own projects, provided credit is given to me.
Also, Credit for the worldpainting I give to o00gareth00o
and should you like it I'd appreciate a shiny stone, some comments with feedback &/ fav.
ALSO, if anyone decides to use this ship for display, or to make a cinematic etc of it, please do use conquest resourcepack with optifine, there is a LOT of custom textures / blocks here that would be wrong or missing if used with another pack.
