VIDEO ABOVE IS MY OWN, CLICK THE LINKS BELOW TO GO TO THE TUTORIAL.
I HAVE CHANGED THE DOWNLOAD LINK, THE LAST ONE DID NOT INCLUDE THE SAVE FILE. RE-DOWNLOAD TO GET THE WORLD FILE.
IMPORTANT: This is NOT my design, it was the result of following a tutorial by Bennyscube (YouTube Channel) All credit for the DESIGN and tutorial go to him, I simply followed the tutorial. He has given me permission to post it on Planet Minecraft.
Here we have a 4 Bit ALU Computer, it works in binary. It is a good, simple computer for basic
mathematics. Specifically for addition and subtraction. At the moment it reads, writes and displays in binary. When I make a new computer I will try and add a translated display for easier user interaction.I followed an excellent tutorial by Bennyscube, he created a very interesting and easy to follow tutorial series on how to make a basic 4Bit ALU. He firstly covers logic gates for beginners.
Also, as he goes along he makes explanation videos on the different parts, such as the RAM, ROM Program, Memory, the ALU etc.
I had a bit of trouble with my computer so he was generous enough to help me out a lot, so I managed to get it working. This tutorial series is perfect for beginners wishing to learn about computers, logic and binary. If you want to find out more, please show him the love and clock the links below.
- Here is a link to the tutorial by Bennyscube: (Part 1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-fCCuR3J9k
- Here is a link to Bennyscube YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/bennyscube
Please note the world file is NOT a perfect design, it is my result of following the tutorial and making changes. If you want the world file of Bennyscube, go to part 15.
Here are the specs:
- Bits: 4
- Clock speed: 385millihertz (or 0.385Hz if you prefer)
- ALU: 2 function
- RAM: 2 bytes (or 16 bits if you prefer)
- ROM: 2 bytes (or 16 bits if you prefer)
- Registers: 1 byte (or 8 bits if you prefer)
- Program Memory: 44 bytes (or 352 bits if you prefer)
The world file I am including is my own, it includes the computer with all the parts you see in the images. Along with a 2 Bit decoder and a shift register.

But command blocks took over. then i am one of the few people that still make great things like this that is not completely based off command blocks. D:
