Once more I've built again. :) Though... this is such a peculiarly odd theme that I really wasn't sure how it'd turn out. This is a contest entry to the Minecraft Discord's Fortnightly Building Challenge, run by GalaxitedCookiie (and as a side note, cookies can be quite nice - I don't like eating but I have liked cookies), and... I feel this actually turned out pretty well considering the block palette. Mainly made of grass, dirt, coarse dirt, cobblestone, andesite and stone, with the occasional inclusion of red glass for the windows, the entirety of the structure follows a very, very limited palette that I really wasn't entirely sure about the potential of but still wanted to try to make work, and I'm rather pleased with how it turned out. It may just be me, but doesn't dirt look a fair bit like wood from afar? Yet up close it's like ah that's pretty obviously dirt but when you look at it from afar even I as the builder was questioning myself at some points. That may just be me though. I imagine you're not supposed to question your own build while making it.

Anyyyway... When I saw it at night and with shaders it was just flat out amazing. Throughout the entire build I hadn't seen it with shaders so I had no idea what exactly to expect, and thought it'd just be like most of the builds I've had so far have been, and not even once has that involved a variety of different coloured lights, so when I activated Sildur's Shaders at night and saw the reds and purples and blues suddenly light up it was great- I wish Minecraft had different colours like that, but I am thankful that kind of effect can be replicated via other means at times. If only that were more often the case. It was great. :) (That is just how I felt though- May not be as impressive to others but I love lighting effects and it's a part of the game Minecraft severely lacks in, without even having multiple different colours of lighting, despite the few dozen lighting blocks it has.)
Not the most relevant to the build though...

As for the build, well, I quite enjoyed the overall creation. I tried to go about my usual style of construction but with the goal of it being to make it reach up into the skies as high as I could and replicate it around in a crescent pattern, creating an expansive extensively growing mansion of massiveness and imposing height and size, with so much potential for lighting while also being still absolutely majorly made out of dirt as expected and wanted by the competition. I took a while building and got pretty distracted for two days during it by creating and setting up and playing a small Dungeons and Dragons campaign for my very good friend's Birthday, but now it is finished, and the build was enjoyable to make and the campaign was enjoyable to play too; it's pretty fun to be a dungeon master and do all the voice acting and playing out the characters and having to think up all the many possible answers they may give on the fly and what information a person could infer and filling in the gaps of what may've been overlooked in the notes originally and generally adlibbing and being creative-
Creativity is just generally fun. :) And it allows a lot of room for creativity, so mhm, I recommend that for creativity's sake (so long as you don't restrict yourself too much and remember you can make your own monsters, creatures, people, towns, and so on, and that you don't have to even fully follow the rulesets so long as it's still enjoyable and fair and makes sense and flows within itself - creative liberty is valuable).
Which, well, is something I had with the dirt mansion too. :) The enjoyable creative liberty of allowing myself freedom of shape and size, even while limited in my palette. I recommend trying to make something you can be proud of with dirt too. ^~^ Because it's a very enjoyable thing to try, and every palette can be used to make something impressive. :)
Even... Even a palette with purpur, despite how much I dislike the block, can absolutely be used to make something impressive. It's just harder.

Also, I like it without shaders too (I feel happy to like something I've made out of mainly dirt) and I think it's agreeable it doesn't look much like dirt but if you zoom in it really is.

Thank you as always for reading. :D And hopefully it was nice to see, and have fun. ^~^

Also, after-note as an edit on now:
I won. :D Yay. :D Dirt Mansion to victory!

This being featured was definitely not what I'd imagine would've happened, but- I was interviewed for this for Minecraft.net, and this is a great achievement, so yay to that. :D

Next you need to build a tiny beginner hut out of diamonds and netherite.

That could certainly be interesting. :) Building out of things like diamonds and netherite and trying to use blocks that just aren't conventional is fun. I don't think I could do it at the scale of a tiny beginner hut though.

o: But, but, then there's just leaves and vines and it'd look like a bush? xD It could be cool as I like bushes though, but it'd literally just be a bush.

xD That's true! This is a bit oversized for a mansion.

Thank you, Seconcody! :D It's nice to prove even dirt can be a useful block for buildings, and I'm happy this did that for you. :)

Yeah. :) I was asked a bunch of questions for it so I'm quite aware, but I'm happy again to know of it being seen. :D Thank you.
