Welcome to Shannon!

Hello, I'm Camdyn, and for the past month or so I've been working on this city! I make cities in Minecraft a lot, but usually I either get bored of the current one or it gets corrupted, but this time I'm for real. The other ones I messed around in...

...weren't as good as I had tried to make them, and I figured part of it was my lack of organization.
But, this project is permanent! (hopefully)
My mission with this world is to make as realistic of a US-typical city Minecraft can hold, and that means the whole city. It isn't filled with skyscrapers around the whole place, it is a medium-large city, and in the future should be roughly the same size as my home city, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Now, you may be asking, how have I been able to be more organized? Well, with every downtown block, I've designated a medium city to it, so all buildings in that block are from that city. (some blocks will be my own designs, however) So far, I have seven completed downtown blocks: Roanoke, Hartford, Harrisburg, Tulsa, Syracuse, Rochester and Des Moines. In the future, I think cities like Oklahoma City, Little Rock, Reading, Providence, and Colorado Springs would be perfect.
As for the rest of the city, it will be kind of like real cities-- not as organized, but keeping businesses on major roads and houses in between them. One thing that many "realistic" cities do is make these massive downtowns with massive skylines, but residencies only take place right outside, and then to the wilderness they go. My goal is to keep the downtown area at a manageable size, so that I can put the right proportions of suburbs and smaller cities.
Most buildings will be furnished, but I'm one man, so most houses probably will not be furnished. Although, when it comes to just about everything else, it will be unique!

Also, I like trees, so expect to see plenty of those. :P

On the outskirts of the city you will start to enter the mountains. I don't have a name for them yet, so comment suggestions down below! I made these mountains with the Appalachians and the Ouachitas in mind, long strips of highland with scattered pine and spruce forest the higher you go. I will include a "National Forest" featuring a large lake and some surrounding mountains, complete with trails and campsites.

When this page says "10% done," it really means 0.000001% done. This will never be finished, because be real: are cities ever "done"? I will update occasionally, probably roughly every month or so.

Have a good day!

UPDATE: The may build is out! Expect the map up for download in the june or july build!
What's new:
Plenty of new downtown buildings (Including my favorite, the Holy Family Cathedral, taken from a church in my city.)
A few more townhouses
A much more functioning start to a downtown highway loop--first intersection complete, mostly (spaghetti junctions look cool but are annoying to make!)
Completed the "Integrity Centre" - the sports dome in the SE part of Downtown + Gardens and Parking around it
