Agatean Empire:


Another Human-like race, these warmongering technophiles were once an almost peaceful race, confined to a small corner of the unfashionable part of the western arm of their galaxy.




Once, the Agateans were content to squabble amongst themselves.




In the several hundred years that followed the citizens of Agatea on their quest for hostile re-colonisation of ‘ wherever the hell their stardrive technology could take them’ the Agateans have become regarded as some of the greatest tacticians and heralded as the most lenient opressors in galactic history, ahem I mean..uhh, pleasant overlords?




Agatean ships are charecterised by their bulky and heavily beweaponed appearance. slow movement, poor accuracy and limited points for beauty are nothing when you can rip apart ships three times your size in a single plasma volley.




Agatean Destroyer ‘Darkstar’ AF-O:




The Agatean Empires main Offensive Destroyer Class Warship, Darkstar serves as primary weapons platform for the O series. Sporting 2 hangars, 4 refit bays, 6 crew decks, 18 torpedo magazines and two of ‘ultra’ weapons, the ship is a fearsome combatant in any campaign be it in atmosphere or in the black. The typical armament of these fearsome vessels is as follows:




Primary Gun Array:


A photon torpedo cannon (sue me :P ), utilising longbow technology to accelerate large warheads at incredible speeds.


An ‘ultra’ class ion cannon, two heavy ion cannons and 2 plasma cannons.




Additional Arms:


The hull is also armed with a heavy plasma mortar, 10 laser batteries, 8 missile pods and 6 laser cannons.




Compliment:


A compliment of 13 AF-D Ballista MRFs are also usually maintained and deployed from the ships hangars.
