This project is a replica of the World Wonder of the Vikings from the game Age of Empires II by Microsoft in the fictional team colour black. The "Borgund stavkyrkje" (Borgund Stave Church) is one of the few stave churches still preserved today. It is located in Lærdal, Vestland, Norway and is considered to be one of the oldest surviving wooden buildings in the world.
The building was built around 1180 based on archaeological finds (at least its timber was felled during this period), and it was built on the floor of a previous church. The church was built during the transition period in Norway, when the population finally abandoned the old pagan ways and finally fully embraced Christianity. Therefore, runes and pagan images carved into the wood can still be found. By and large, the Nordic stave churches are based on the great old Germanic temples of paganism and thus represent a special feature for churches which otherwise practically all derive from Roman basilicas.

Dieses Projekt ist eine Nachbildung des Weltwunders der Wikinger aus dem Spiel Age of Empires II von Microsoft in der imaginären Teamfarbe Schwarz. Die "Borgund stavkyrkje" (Stabkirche Bordgund) ist eine der wenigen heute noch erhaltenen Stabkirchen. Sie befindet sich in Lärdal, Vestland, Norwegen und gilt als eines der ältesten noch erhaltenen Holzgebäude der Welt.

Structural features:
The building was built by me in mid-2017 and is made entirely of wood and coal blocks and can therefore be completely burned down. I recommend using lightning rods to protect the building. The inside of the building is practically empty. However, there is a staircase and columns. Compared to the AoE-II model the tower is too short.

Bauliche Merkmale:
Das Gebäude wurde von mir Mitte 2017 gebaut und besteht vollständig aus Holz und Kohleblöcken und kann somit vollständig abgefackelt werden. Ich empfehle die Nutzung von Blitzableitern um das Gebäude zu schützen. Das Innere des Gebäudes ist praktisch leer. Es gibt allerding eine Treppe sowie Säulen. Im Vergleich zum AoE-II Modell der der Turm zu kurz geraten.
Geschichte:
Das Gebäude wurde nach archäologischen Funden um 1180 gebaut (zumindest sein Bauholz wurde in diesem Zeitraum gefällt), wobei es auf dem Boden einer Vorgängerkirche gebaut wurde. Die Kirche wurde im Übergangszeitraum Norwegens gebaut, in welcher die Bevölkerung schließlich die alten heidnischen Wege ablegte und sich schließlich vollständig zum Christentum bekannte. Daher lassen sich sehr wohl noch Runen und heidnische Bildnisse, welche in das Holz geschnitzt wurden, finden. Im Großen und Ganzen basieren die nordischen Stabkirch auf den großen alt germanischen Tempeln des Heidentum und stellen damit ein Besonderheit für Kirchen dar, welche ansonsten praktisch alle von römischen Basiliken abstammen.

Updated Datafile to modern nbt - as some people still uses ancient versions that can run McEdit and so still have a use for schmeatics I put the old file also into the zip but I don't recommand using it if you are using an up to date minecraft.
