Refilling the ink is the worst part of owning a printer. Why would I want to recreate that experience in a video game?

Other people have made printers before, but all of these will eventually require you to fill it up yourself, usually by refilling the reserves of sand somewhere behind the scenes. My printer remembers the image you print, and is capable of placing all of the wool back in it's appropriate storage unit, meaning you can use this printer forever without having to place any blocks yourself. All without any command blocks or block duplication glitches!

The printer can be used simply by throwing wool blocks into the holes that correspond to each pixel. When you press the print button, the row you have entered into the machine is read and added to the bottom of your image. Once the 11x11 screen is full, you can hit the reset button and watch as your image is automatically removed, and the wool transferred back to where it came from.

Overall this build took about 5 months worth of work. I started in 2016, stopped playing Minecraft for a couple years, but recently came back and finished this project.

I'm not sure, at this point I'd either have to post a 1.15 world or go and update it to 1.16 redstone, because there are definitely some things that broke in that update. I won't make any promises, but I'll try to take a look at it and see how much effort it will take to update it in the next couple weeks.

Update on this, I did some attempts at an update, and there's no way to fix it without significantly redoing large sections of the build, which I'm not going to do. The current build doesn't work in 1.15 or 1.16.

I can probably install world edit in 1.13 to get the original build into a downloadable world, but I"m not going to do that immediately. I'll let you know when I do.

I would love to be able to, but the build is in the middle of my redstone world that is version 1.13. I didn't realize MCedit doesn't support 1.13 when I started again, so I don't know how I could post a download for this without putting up my entire redstone world :/

Yeah, I had that issue on a couple of my builds, the only solution I've found is to copy the world, use world edit (Forge) to copy stuff in game, then paste it into its own world. (Its quite a process but I'm sure the redstone community would love it if they got a download) Great job on all the hard work.

That'd be pretty handy, I'll have to look into that when I get a bit more time.
