Refilling the ink is the worst part of owning a printer. Why would I want to recreate that experience in a video game?
Other people have made printers before, but all of these will eventually require you to fill it up yourself, usually by refilling the reserves of sand somewhere behind the scenes. My printer remembers the image you print, and is capable of placing all of the wool back in it's appropriate storage unit, meaning you can use this printer forever without having to place any blocks yourself. All without any command blocks or block duplication glitches!
The printer can be used simply by throwing wool blocks into the holes that correspond to each pixel. When you press the print button, the row you have entered into the machine is read and added to the bottom of your image. Once the 11x11 screen is full, you can hit the reset button and watch as your image is automatically removed, and the wool transferred back to where it came from.
Overall this build took about 5 months worth of work. I started in 2016, stopped playing Minecraft for a couple years, but recently came back and finished this project.

I can probably install world edit in 1.13 to get the original build into a downloadable world, but I"m not going to do that immediately. I'll let you know when I do.
