Battle of the Grebbeberg - 1940
During Operation 'Fall Gelb' the Germans attacked the BeNeLux and France, to avoid the Maginotline they went through the Netherlands and Belgium, during the Battle of the Netherlands the Dutch held position at the Grebbeberg, its a hill in the middle of the country, it was a part of the plan to protect Holland, the economical center of the country. The Dutch didn't had much equipment but they did what they could, they grave trenches and made casemates (fortified turrets/machineguns) near key points. After the bombing of Rotterdam on the 14th of May the Dutch government capitulated.
