The year is 1955. You're on tram stop 'De Franschman' in Bergen, the Netherlands. The scene at this moment in time is just a perfectly normal day; The tram going to Bergen aan Zee passes the returning tram, with a few beach visitors boarding and disembarking the tram. The trains are being pulled by the NS 7700, true workhorses. Their distinct Bells giving them the nickname "Bello", a name that would stick on for centuries. Sadly though it's the last year of operation for this branch line running from Alkmaar to Bergen aan Zee, and it's only 3 years before the Dutch national railway phases out steam locomotives completely.
The Netherlands was the first country to stop using steam in the regular steam service. Back then steam was seen as an outdated and dirty form of transport, and thus a lot of the Dutch original steam locomotives have been lost and destroyed. The handful of locomotives that were kept in preservation are the things that keep this history alive.
To aid in keeping a bit of history alive I have made this diorama. Using pictures from archives, original blueprints, several books, maps and a lot of time spent doing research I tried getting it as accurate as possible. If interested there's links to some of my sources and pictures in the spoiler below!
Use this texturepack when accessing the world, otherwise it will look a bit odd :D
Please don't copy this in any form or way and call it your own.
I hope you liked it!
