I'm project lead on the Blue Vanilla mod which is a mod that allows new structures to be spawned into the wilderness of your minecraft world. It's kinda like Ruins, but we have hundreds of structures ranging from castles and towers to ships, pagodas, graveyards, houses, and much, much more. We also have the ability to add custom mobs based on existing minecraft mob models into the game. The mod itself is like an interpreter that can be pointed at an external assets URL.

In 2013 our default assets made exploring a lot of fun because you never knew what you'll find over the next hill. Our landscapes were dotted with new structures to investigate.

In 2014 I am planning to build a new asset library solely devoted to large underground dungeons. A BVD (Blue Vanilla Dungeons) world will look like any other minecraft world on the surface, but if you do any caving at all you should find these massive complexes full of danger and adventure.

I will be setting up a page at our mod website (www.srjdesign.com/minecraft/) that will have a few template schematics that dungeon builders can download and work from to create dungeons. They will likely be 128 x 128 x 32, so there will be plenty of room for you to build neat stuff for players to find. I'm also going to push for each dungeon to have at least one custom mob to inhabit it. Not knowing what manner of creature you'll find in a dungeon will make exploration that much more exciting.

To help you get started we now have two templates you can use. The first is just a big box, but has signboards inside with tips and suggestions. The second is the same box set up with a moat around a platform where you can build a smaller structure if 128x128 seems too big for you.

The core Blue Vanilla team is myself (project lead) and brothers Dan (programmer) and Chris (audio work). We have had contributions from maybe a half dozen other folks for the 2013 default assets but most of the non-programming development (coding structures, creating new mobs, etc...) was done by me.

We are just beginning our 2014 push to have dungeons built for a new assets pack to be used with BV. I've only started trying to assemble a team but hope to get lots of contributors. Each structure or skin author can work fairly independently as we will convert the submissions and add them to a URL that the BV engine can be pointed at.

I'm likely the person you'd be working with, though questions can also be asked at our reddit page (www.reddit.com/r/bluevanilla/). My brother Dan can field technical questions there - I don't think he's even on PMC (yet).
