I started this project about a year ago during my free time in college but never got around finishing it. Having recently come back to it, i got really insired and decided to revamp the whole thing and implement revolutionnary features, in my opinion. This is also my first ever PMC project/post.





First off, yes, I do use a custom texture pack but all I changed was the stone brick texture to gray wool, flat stone slabs and flat sandstone. However, the aircraft still looks good with regular textures. The texture pack is included with the world save.

Being a really, really meticulous person, I am never satisfied until I feel everything is exact and all details are present. This project took me months to finish just because i wasnt satisfied with so minor details about it. Other than being a very accurate model of the original aircraft, I also made precise textures of all "The Spirit Of Charleston" decals using a custom USAF font, Photoshop, Spritecraft and MCEdit.

You might be asking yourselves "What makes this aircraft so special other than its accuracy to the original one?". Well I have the answer! My C-17 is completly interactive and has features no other vanilla Minecraft aircraft ever had. It is slightly bigger than real life, although not by much but its only to allow a detailed, functionnal and accurate interior. I will at some point come up with its scale, it only requires a simple math calculus. The only thing it cant do is fly! Below are listed all its features and available options controllable through the tellraw command.

-Animated ramp (Can be opened and closed, has removable loading ramps)

-Usable windshield wipers (runs the command "/weather clear" when used)

Most of these use the "/clone" command to copy various stages of the animation to create a realistic effect. Think of it as a stop-motion.

A video might be uploaded soon to demonstrate the previously listed features along with the aircraft itself

All the textures displayed on the C-17 airframe are not retextured paintings. Im using maps on item frames that show a giant texture on the ground and display it as a logo or writing on the airframe. Warps to texture locations are provided. Since a single map requires a 128x128 square, speed effect is given to the player when in such location to accomodate travel and removed when warping back to the aircraft.

At this point, it is done but i still have to add a few details and features.

Ive set the spawnpoint but in case it didnt work and you spawn away from the aircraft, it is located at X: 556 Y: 4 Z: -973.



You are free to request any liveries for this aircraft. Although i might not make all of them, if i have enough will, since it takes a hell of a lot of time to make, i might do it. Remember, i need a specific aircraft with its name (if its got one) and tail number. Any other aircraft or vehicle idea is welcome too.
