Nice Job man! The walls are flat in places even the places that you have detailed, add more depth and maybe a more interesting structure. Overall good build and cant wait to see it finished! [but um the statues? the colors dont work too well, it would be cool if you made them shades of gray instead, just an idead though)

No joke, the sections that are detailed look quite good. There are just  lot of sections that, to be blunt, aren't. I admire the constant, almost thematic use of concave diamonds; it really brings the thing together as a single build. Also, I have a question and a recommendation:
Firstly, you say you didn't use WorldEdit... did you use MCEdit? Voxelsniper?Or was this entirely built by hand?
Secondly, I'd recommend either changing the statues into slightly less awkward poses or scrapping them entirely. The blocky feel of the two really takes away from the cathedral. I understand you want to put your mark on it, and a statue is a great way to show just who did work on this, but maybe consider making them kneeling, or maybe just standing at attention. The one arm out isn't working for me, though.

For a second I thought the statues were actually people in front of the build. XD
