Centaur: 'Dreamscape Flutist' by Dr_Bond and PearlescentMoon
This is a conceptual collaboration build built by Dr_Bond and myself over a period of 24 hours over 4 days.
We wished to incorporate nature within mythical animal life to create a fantasy project that appeals to all audiences; henceforth creating a 'magical' scene to behold.
Overall, this project depicts a materialisation of a spirit from a 'dreamscape' world.
Several different techniques were used in the making of this sculpture, such as fill sculpting and clippaste brushing. A central idea we built around is stationary movement which is visualized through the moving hair, vines and butterflies.
Concepts that add to this effect include:
-leaves transitioning into butterflies from the centaurs hair that further reinforce a natural feel.
-Runes surrounding the feet that display a connection with 'otherworldly' societies.
-The flowers add a 'Spring/newly blossomed' feel.
-The flute is a symbolism of the centaur's voice, as she cannot communicate directly to the materialistic world.
