I'm not sure how to make this work because when I download it it's not a file that I can put into the saves folder to open up the world. How do I make this work?

Why did you upload just the level.dat file? you need the other parts like the DIM-1 to actually play it

you get the world save, then stick it in a folder. Then, you compress that folder. People will know to unzip it when downloaded, then put the folder in their saves file
