About a week ago, the primary server that I play on held a contest could create the best-looking Chrysler Building. In the end, my version, as seen here, was decided the winner. The contest was only judged based on exterior appearance, but I have since decided to try to work on my interior decorating/design by flushing out the entire interior of the build.
The tower stands 245 blocks above the ground and has a square base with dimensions 47x47. My current plan has the interior coming in at 48 floors, with the possibility of an additional 1-2 below ground for plumbing/machinery to give the building a more realistic feel. The above-ground floors will include a combination of offices, meeting rooms, shops, living space (on higher levels), design studios, and any other fun ideas that come up along the way. These above-ground floors each have 3 blocks of head room, with the exception of the bottom 2 levels, which will be taller. Since I know that no one will want to walk up 48 flights of stairs to explore all of the detail which I hope to include inside, I have implemented two elevator shafts, each with a ladder and a minecart elevator system, to enable faster vertical travel. Misa's Realistic texture pack is being used for its construction, although I have found that the exterior translates very well between most packs (I've tried it on 5 packs now, including default, and it looks quite good on all).
Since the building will have so many floors, I am open to suggestions on the exact content of floors. If you have an idea, and would like to see a floor designed around that idea, please let me know in the comment section using the following format:
