This is the successor of the Silverstone Bay Airport I designed 2-4 years earlier. Now based on an actual plane model in full scale. This airport has the capability of (not) being the largest airport in minecraft. Despite being started in early november of 2014, it is a project in alpha, where the things you see here are subject to change.
It is planned to have at least 3 terminals, hotel, garage and parking services, lightrail, and a connection to an interstate. Its first terminal currently handles about 10 large aircraft (of about the size of a 747 for some reason) and will be readjusted for better efficiency.
This was originally a planned entry into an airport building competition, but was halted due to multiple redesigns in order to find a balance between the buildings and aircraft.
Despite not being one of the largest airports in Minecraft, It is planned to be completely furnished, as well as completely relying on redstone technology. All major electrical functions operate on large resource intensive circuits. All lighting is provided from powered glowstone lamps, that are all connected on an operable day/night circuit. Glowstone will probably be used to a minimum or they're non existent from this build. Also a first is it includes a compacted redstone fire suppression system ( although rather ineffective considering Minecraft's fire mechanics) that trips automatically when power is cut, or when fire is burning though wool. The fire system also works as an alarm thoughout the complex. Baggage claims are also automatically controled from the baggage handler's side via button.
The main feature that will be included in this system is a functioning ALS system for non stationary airplanes to be controlled from a control tower (which has yet to be planned).

Prototype Release : by robot_26 02/12/2016 7:38:24 pmFeb 12th, 2016
I am releasing the 2nd generation prototype for educational purposes. It is not the complete rendition of the airport. If anyone is planning to recycle ideas from this airport, they are more than welcome to. Also, if you have a low performing computer, please do not touch the redstone circuitry for your convenience. More or less, I will probably forget about this prototype and build a new one in a very far off future.
