Did you ever consider building a clocktower for your town, but were put off by the redstone circuitry? We (reiuyi and gideon) have constructed a simplistic clock-tower capable of counting minutes and hours (not real time minutes for aesthetic reasons). Pulse-generation is based on a minecart, hour division is based on piston memory cells. The memory cells were discovered by accident; we're not sure whether or not someone else has already discovered them. The memory cells are 2Ã 2Ã 1 big and can be placed serially for clock divisions.

The hour-divider of this clock is based on a 6Ã 4 +2 divider. When the first 6 memory cells are all positive, they give one pulse to the next 4 and reset themselves. Take a look at the circuitry in-game and you may be able to base your own clock on our design. This redstone circuit is surprisingly stable on a beta server, though the counting mechanism stops when no one is in the chunk. The counting mechanism resumes without bugs when someone enters the chunk.

The progress bar has been set to 95% because the tower was lacking a roof when I extracted this from our server. Additionally, there's one empty room and there are some ladders/stairs missing. Please have fun and complete the tower on your own and build something big around it!

Additional Notes

MCEdit was not used in the creation of this tower.
