The Colosseum was a project started on November 30th 2010. It was measured and designed to be as 1:1 scale as possible. This required some research and as much reference as possible. The land was cleared out completely by hand and 1/4 of the structure was built completely by hand. The rest of the construction was aided with some in-game world editing tools for more efficiency, since this was a 1 man job mostly. The Colosseum was completed in the summer of 2011. The surrounding city has also grown during this time. At the beginning of the project, its surroundings were all forest and mountains with only a small castle nearby, which was my first Minecraft build.
