To defend Helms Deep you and anyone else you can muster up have to prepare for the worst. Saruman has created a new abomination known as the fighting Uruk-Hai! These are a strong Orc that don't seem to be weakened by the sun. Luckily for us no army has ever breached the walls of the deep nor have they stepped foot in the Hornburg. So gear up and get ready to kill some Orc!

Defend Helms Deep is a project I originally started in 2012 and 'finished' in 2014. I started to remake it in 2019 into a Co-op game instead of a PVP one. An insane amount of hours went into making this map, and I'm hoping that an even bigger amount of hours of gameplay goes into it by you wonderful people.


DO NOT
- DO NOT load this game into 'Aternos Server Hosting.' It will not work!
- DO NOT use any server plugins/custom server.jar with this map. It will likely break things.

IMPORTANT INFO
NOTE!
- Try to keep your Render Distance higher than 8 AND Entity Distance as high as you can.

- 1.17-1.19 FPS isn't that great. You will likely get less FPS than you are used to. I recommend getting Optifine to 'help' with that.

- DO NOT use any server plugins with this map. It will likely break things.
BUGS THAT AFFECT THE GAME
-MC-172304 (important) Some mobs attack their own team
-MC-162253 (important) Lag spike/frame drop when passing some chunk borders
-MC-101175 Item frame stays on fire if shot by fire arrow
-MC-250943 Can't detect horn being used with scoreboard objective
-MC-191698 Can't set block state 'shape' with setblock
-MC-165516 Snow Golems are stupid and keep shooting when nothing is there
Using shaders messed up the Fell Beast model 'Phantom'

  • Moved 2 free turrets closer to keep gate
  • Rohirrim Banner Lore

  • Forgot to remove a command block
  • Some scrap items have different lore preventing players from stacking
  • Player accused of cheating when joining the world sometimes
  • Voting to destroy keep gate doesn't work sometimes when enemies are there (most likely caused by lag)
  • Late joining players recieved more gold than they should
  • Resource Pack sign checker fixed

tyty! There are two things in this current version I need to fix though. A random command block is showing outside the lobby i forgot to remove. And players are accused of cheating when they first join in single player.
EDIT: now fixed

Youtube haha. Nah the file isn't long enough. I thought about making an extra resource pack that plays music though.

Thanks for the reply, my friends and I are loving the map! Having the option to keep the music playing would be a great addition to the mod, but for now we will take your advice and use Youtube. And again, thank you for all your hard work on this!

Probably? I feel like realms might not be powerful enough. (And not sure how you set the resource pack for a realms server)
