Floor information

First 9 floors have bigger rooms with more windows. Floors 10-18 mainly have smaller 1- and 2-bed apartments.

In total, there are 288 fully furnished houses made of 15 different types. 108 of them one-bed apartments, 156 two-bed apartments and the rest bigger ones.

More information global warming and future of using wood in construction

The concrete industry produces carbon dioxide (CO2), creating up to 5% of the world's carbon dioxide emissions. For comparison air traveling only causes 1-2% of global CO2 emissions. To reduce emissions and helping fighting the global warming also construction industry must find more environmental-friendly materials.
Wood is one, really promising way to build new building more natural way. Living trees absorb carvon dioxide and produce oxygen to the atmosphere. When tree is cutted to planks, storage of carbon dioxide still continues throught their entire life. One cubic meter of wood can store nearly ton of CO2. Properly treated wood is also strong and durable enough even for larger buildings.

This is my Minecraft concept build which uses wood for all main walls and floors. Most important thing for me was to show that wood can be used building good looking skyscraper and dyed concrete blocks aren't the only option to make detailed looking buildings. I hope to see more wooden-build building in future.

Wood is only used in small portion of big buildings in the world right now but new ones are rising.

Process and details

Build in vanilla minecraft 1.12.2 with help of MCEdit. Total build time ~30 hours. Interior took most of it. In addition ~5 hours for planning, graphical presentation, writing description.
- World download minecraft version 1.12.2, include skyscraper in superflat with spawn.
World can be little bit laggy with older computers... There is 2659 light sources, lots of glass and 893 paintings etc. really detailed building.
- World's name is ”Wooden skyscraper” inside packed folder.
