After nearly a year of research, planning and building, the visual result is a
Ancient Rome map, reconstructed in Minecraft on an area of 1000m x 200m. Which extends from the Ludus Magnus in the east up to the Temple of Concordia in the west,

Each building stands in the place where it once stood. According to the dimensions of the real buildings, ( a in-game "normal" Minecraft block = 1 metre ). The most significant characteristics of the real buildings are part of the reconstruction. The landscape is partially taken into account.

The buildings are: Ludus Magnus, Amphitheatrum Flavium, Via Sacra, Arch of Constantine, Meta Sudans, Colossus Solis, Temple of Venus and Roma, Arch of Titus, Basilica of Maxentius and Constantine, House of the Vestals, Temple of Iuppiter Stator, Regia, Temple of Vesta, Temple of Antonius Pius and Faustina, Arch of Augustus, Temple of Divus Iulius, Temple of Castor and Pollux, Basilica Aemilia, Shrine of Cloacina, Basilica Iulia, Seven Honorary Columns, Lacus Curtius, Column of Phocas, Lapis Niger, Rostra, Curia Iulia, Secretarium Senatus, Arch of Septimus Severus, Ubilicus Urbis Romae, Milliarium Aureum, Mundus, Temple of Saturn, Temple of Vespasian, Temple of Concordia, Forum Iulium, Basilica Argentaria, Temple of Venus Genetrix, Porticus Dei Consentes, Cloaca Maxima, Argiletum,

Hi there EJB, I think your builds are really fancy and really detailed (mostly because of the small blocks mod). I am busy building Rome myself too. I got a question about the forum lulium. It says that the measurements are 160 by 75 metres on the internet, but is this the whole complex or only the midde open place. I will subscribe you and download and favourite this project, because this should get way more apreciation, since i can see that a lot of effort has gone into this, not only in building all of this, but also in the research you have done. Hoping you are still busy making roman buildings!

It is very likely that not only the length of the rectangular open area describes the 160 meters. The forum Iulium seems to extend further. My basis for this assumption, I gather from the study of the google earth pictures. It is very likely that the Temple of Venus Genetrix as well as rectangular open area and the space behind the temple correspond to 160 meters
