Hi jbstewart985, I build all of my ships in 1.745:1 scale, which I have discovered is the perfect ratio for making the interior rooms look as big as they do in real life rather than cramped/blocky, and to add the perfect level of detail. I developed this ratio after building my Queen Mary 2 model - I first built a passenger cabin, than copy/pasted all of the cabins in and added the bow/stern to make it proportional-looking. When this was done, the final model was 602 blocks long rather than the 345 blocks that a 1:1 model would be. Dividing 602/345, you get 1.7449, which I now use as the standard scale for all of my ships. That means my Emma Maersk model should be 693 blocks compared to the QM2, although I may have fudged it a bit to make it look right (closer to 650). Having stuff look right is more important to me than having correct measurements, cause in the end only the looks matter :)
