Good news! Now you can download an MCedit file of this plane! Make sure to give me credit though :)
Hello everyone,
This is my new project, a 2:1 scale of the Fokker Dr.I. This is the triplane that was used by Manfred von Richthofen, aka "The Red Baron" during WWI. Said to be superior to the English Sopwith Camel, the Dr.I was exceptionally manoeuvrable. Although it was a very manoeuvrable aircraft, there were reported incidents of airplanes breaking up in flight due to wing failure.
The Dr.I was also used during WWI to experiment with new engines, but these made the aircraft to difficult to handle.
Three know triplanes have survived the war, but all of these have crashed or were destroyed during Allied bombing raids in WWII (these aircraft were in museums, they weren't used ;) ).
