Welcome to Soviet Russia!
This map could as well be one of my longest in time and largest in scale projects. It's my gesture of respect and a tribute to the country, to its nature, to its architecture, to its people, to its music, to its literature, to its history, to everything.
Description:
It's an adventure map I've made for Sean (Forge Labs, YouTube channel), to explore the world, survive in it for 100 days with this virus stuff, however this map is different from what you saw on the video, you won't find any loot, no mods, and no zombies here, because this map represents what was there before the virus, when it all was alive, peaceful and beautiful. Well, to the degree it can get in the Soviet Union. Lights, cars, open shops, decorated apartments, open streets with no warning signs :D and so on. There's a lot of things on the map, it's huge as hell basically.
Process:
The process took me around 2 months, to do the planning, some sketches, then research and finally the building part itself. The whole map is made in Russian style, the architecture, colors, textures, vegetation, every little thing, because my main goal was to make this map as Russian as possible. So for this, I had to do a lot of research, pictures, video fragments from those times, dates, historical situations and stuff, so players when exploring the world can be sure that every detail there, is not science fiction but an actual exiting thing, or not existing right now, but at some point in time. Yeah, about time, it's 1963. Cars, buses, houses, fences and farms were built according to that year, so actually, Russia today does not look like it anymore, lots of buildings were demolished, especially the old ones, there are significantly less historical farms and farmhouses now, and white beautiful concrete soviet buildings are now gray, dirty, yet they still stand hah, which is an actual cool fact. Some architects say they could stand for 100 goddam years. But we'll see, basically.
Another thing needs to be mentioned, I used a lot of towns and actual buildings as inspiration, for this map it was Saint Petersburg, and its territories around the city, so that even if I do create something directly out of my mind and imagination, it will still have a historical significance, for those who are interested in history and facts, that is :D Well, I am, so... I did what the hell I wanted to do, right xD
Important:
- all the manor buildings outside the city actually do exist in real life in Russia, though some abandoned, well, maybe most, even.
- all the farmhouses do still exist in real life as well, but most likely they're not the same colors, and other small differences might happen, you know, over some 60 years
- random furnished apartments were decorated by me personally, but I still had to look at the pictures to estimate, how an apartment might look like inside a specific house in 1960s and 50s of the Soviet Union.
- and yeah you will have to search carefully to find those decorated apartments among all the other hundreds hah, well, good luck :D
If you want to download the 1.12 version of the map you saw on the video, with mods, zombies and all that other apocalyptic stuff, you can become a Patreon member of Forge Labs, with that you'll also get all the previous maps from his videos: https://www.patreon.com/ForgeLabs
This map is for Minecraft 1.19+ only
Oh by the way, enjoy the video, fellas :D

I cant afford :((
Idiot.
The map is very good, when I open this map with Forge Labs Mustard Infected Mode, are the items in the boxes randomly placed by the map?
Or can you tell us in detail how we will do it, if we are going to do it?
I can play like in the video, is there no special discount for Turks? 5 dollars is very expensive,
This inspired me to create one of my own maps which i'm currently working on.
But nice work with the realistic russian styled building, especially the apartments.
Keep working on your great ideas!
