Here's an alright iron farm for anyone who wants to download/copy the design, feel free to expand or improve on it - I personally hope this doesn't get a big nerf later down the road.

At the end of the video I do a 60 second test to show how much iron is gathered. On average, I get anywhere from 650-700 per minute.

I plan on designing a 1,000+ per minute farm when I get the time.

Details:

This is the most simple, yet productive farm I've designed so far. I've discovered a few main things for making farms:

Surface area matters greatly.
3x3 instead of 2x2 spawn room is much better.
Pistons are less productive than the water currents used.
If they fall 7 blocks below spawn space, new mobs appear.

This would be easy to make as it requires in all seriousness, not many resources. You could disassemble a village and refit it for production of new villagers, using an elevator and minecart system to transport them to the top where they can be led through a tunnel overhead to the falling chamber where they will gather with other villagers in the main holding facility - (2x2x1) center area.

How are getting so many golems? I looked at it and does not spawn any golems. only iron golems I saw were the ones still left on the world. When they were gone, not a single golems spawned. while looking at your build I knew it was not going to produce.... So what did you use to get iron golems to spawn like in your vidoe? Hope you can help me outs

Hey there, I haven't been on here in awhile. To respond, you have to keep in mind how old the video is and how old that build is. When snapshots were first being released, some of them had spawn rates that would later be modified when the official version was released. On the snapshot I played at the time and recorded the video on, based on the number of villagers, golems would spawn. The more villagers you had in a location, the more golems. Now, golems spawn based on villages, not villagers, and it's based on the area as well. As of recent, the mechanics have been changed again, and golem farms are even harder to get iron from now. Just keep in mind when looking at certain videos and builds, that they may be old and outdated due to all of the updates that have been released since then.

Cheers.
